Difficulties syncing Alta HR

HELP!!!  I have read the posts and have tried everything noted and yet I'm still not syncing.  I have a Samsung 8 and realized tonight that my phone isn't syncing.  Turned on and off blue tooth, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, put it foe charging and it keeps telling me that it can locate my tracker. Nothing is working.

Lost my charging cable for a couple of weeks by the time I found it got the whole will not sinc issue.  Phone would not pair because of problem with HR.  Did everything the old disconnect reconnect.  The old button reset.  And tried about 20 other things.  Finally, deleted the app re-install and reset fitbit nada.  Then my daughter said to me dad did you clean the little charging posts first?  Oopsie my bad have never cleaned them should have read the literature I guess.  With everything being made in China these days I pretty much have ignored instructions for anything in the last 10 years much easier and works out better.  So cleaned the posts this time with a toothpick and wipe.  Then deleted software.  Shut off phone re-installed software after phone reboot and check for updates.  The shut off blue tooth and on again.  Then did the set up and voila no more sinc problem.............. As for no button for reset you sure you have an hr not an Alta.  Also the cheap after market replacement cables have no re-set button.  Has your cable been replaced?

So none of that helped, but what did work was using my tablet, loading the app and syncing from there. Now it will randomly sync from my phone, but when it won't, the tablet seems to work and reset whatever bug (and it *is* a bug) that is preventing the sync to phone.

I did everything including restarting my fitbit and now, although it says its syncing, the sync isnt taking place. Samsung 8s. This started happening yesterday. Have rebooted the app and restarted the fit bit.

My Alta HR stopped syncing.  The only way I have been able to get it to sync is to uninstall and install the fitbit app on my LG V20 phone.  Then add/replace my Alta HR in the fitbit app.  Then my fitbit syncs.  I have done this twice now.   Waiting to see if I have do this every time.  Was there a recent update to the fitbit app?  This started happening maybe 5 days ago.

Trash answer. Of course that didn't work because the Alta doesn't sync. it's a common problem that has never been addressed and the moderators blanket answer of turn it off turn it on again doesn't work for every situation.

Go to buy some other wristband I suggest...
