I'm a bus driver. My Charge 5 adds thousands of false steps. Negating the steps by using the 'Driving' activity used to work, but it stopped working. If this workaround doesn't work anymore there's really no reason for me to continue using this device.

Hello @anondb
The team is aware that the Driving mode isn't working properly to discount steps and has been working on fixing the issue. However, we haven't seen a timeline for the fix.

Running into the same issue and the previous topic mentioning this was closed without resolution. I hope they realise that without this feature the device is indeed quite useless regarding its core functionality.
One thing I'll add is that adding the driving activity does flatten the graph for steps during that time but the total step count remains the same.
I hope they can get this fixed soon otherwise I'll have to switch to a different device or leave it home when I ride my motorcycle.

Seems like a simple software fix. Suprising taking Google this long..!
