Hi @annemsnrn, nice to see you here in the Fitbit Community. I wonder what type of exercise you are seeing on your exercise log? Feel free to share a screenshot if you want, this will be super helpful to have a closer look of the issue.

It might be due to SmartTrack. This feature read your motion patterns and automatically create different type of exercises on your Dashboard, whitout the need of manually log them.

If you think this is not the reason of your tracker reading exercise that  you did not do, try with a restart. For more help on this matter take a look at the following post.

Same thing is happening with me. I was afraid my FitBit account was hacked...but the person only worked out on Sunday. Glad someone else had the same issue!

@Rebecca_Everitt, as @RobertoME suggested, could you provide screenshots of the app showing exercises that you did not do? It is hard to analyze the problem without seeing it.

I think it was Smart Track. One of the workouts was noted as "cycling", and I remember I was riding in a car on a trip to North Carolina at the time! I deleted the workouts that showed up and have not had a problem since. Thanks!

Hi there @annemsnrn,I appreciate you have let us know the exercises you were seeing probably was due to SmartTrack.

This is possible due to the motion pattern and the small vibrations of the car. In the basic form your tracker is a motion sensor and can translate this motion as cycling.

Good to hear the issue didn't persisted on a daily basis and everything is good now.

What about you @Rebecca_Everitt, were you able to see if the exercises are coming from SmartTrack? Its hard someone can hack your Fitbit account and log exercises, since only your tracker can communicate with the paired account.

Stay awesome fellows! If you need more help, you can find me here.

The same thing happens to me but at times I'm definitely just sitting on the couch or in bed.  I delete them but they seem to come up every few days, it's frustrating that I have to monitor so it doesn't skew my results. You can tell I wasn't actually working out because it shows me on the elliptical for a half hour only burning 30ish calories with my heart rate staying near or at my resting rate.

I tried to post a screen shot from my phone but the website doesn't seem to allow it. When I press the camera it comes up with text boxes 'source'  'image description' 'dimensions', but no way for me to attach an image from my photo gallery (I am using Google chrome on my android device)

Hi there @Rgchester, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response and I'm wondering how it goes? Is the Issue still persisting?

In case it does, I would suggest to perform a restart in order to address this issue: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If you need to upload screenshots make sure the format is correct or the size of the file is not too large. Commonly with PNG formats, so make sure the image is saved in JPG or JPEG. For more help this post might give you an extra help.

See you later and let me know if you have other questions.

Just took delivery of my Fitbit Inspire 2 today and went for a walk to test, all ok....

i took the fit bit off to recharge and just spotted on the app that I’ve done an 8km bike ride and the watch wasn’t even on my wrist??? This is a bit wrong as I will now have to be extra vigilant or send the thing back as this is not reliable activity. I’ve deleted the activity as it’s ruined my stats.

@Kelliam Hi there. Thank you for the screenshot attached.

I appreciate the details shared. In this case, I'd like you to restart your Inspire 2 and continue monitoring its functionality. Also double check that the activity that appeared wasn't a manually logged activity

Hope this helps.

Just had the same thing happen to me — sitting here at my desk and got a notification that I just completed a 16 minute swim! How is this happening?

This is not uncommon, and restarts don't help. My Charge 4 stays in my gym bag, in the car, during my work day, and sometimes registers heart rate activity (when not on my wrist). I've found it is less susceptible to this if I keep the tracker on it's side.

Same thing is happening to me. Looking for other fitness tracking devices. I can be sitting down & not even moving & it will say I did 30 minutes of intense exercise. What good is it if it doesn't work. Super frustrated.
