Exit from FitBit Application on Android

Hi,

I am using Android 8. After an extensive research on the Internet I could not find a way to exit from the FitBit Application. It keeps running in the background.

I have found several workaround suggestions on the FitBit documentation and forums about why the service is running and how the notifications can be muted. I don't want to mute it. I want to stop the application.

My question is, how can I exit from the application completely?

Regards,

fitGbit

Hi @bitgfit  is there a reason you wish to exit from the app? You can always force quit it and you could even uninstall it. If you're wanting to use the Fitbit and keep an eye on your stats, you'd need to have the app going, especially with the heart rate function. What's going on?

What is going on with me is I don't want the app using battery power.  It should be the user's choice to run and use an App.  Please restore this freedom of choice. October 2019.

@Honormedal and @bitgfit, I agree.

I thought the point of the fitbit was to have most of the info on the device on your wrist. Not to always be glued to your phone.

Considering the diabolical synching and notification issues having the app always running seems pointless anyway.

I tend to have the Bluetooth turned off on my mobile as I don't use it much. I only turn it on to synch my charge 2 to the app. So really there is no need for some of us to have the app continuously running. The choice would be good.

Hi @Honormedal  the app will use the battery power of both your mobile device and your Fitbit. The app is needed so you can see your progress and be in touch with your friends while in a challenge. You can always sync via a computer, too.
