Failing to sync after Android 13 update Samsung Flip/Fold

I updated to Android 13 today.
From then on, no sync possible anymore.
I already:

  • Restarted my phone
  • Shut down the phone completly
  • Force quit Fitbit
  • Deleted and reinstalled Fitbit (should be the newest version)
  • Reset the Charge 5
  • Shut down Google Assistant (apparently that's a problem with the Sense and Android 13)
  • Restarted Bluetooth several times
  • Hard Reset the Charge 5

Now I'm stuck with a watch that can't be connected anymore and is stuck in install mode.

Edit: To clarify. The Charge 5 is being seen via bluetooth, i get's found by the app, but it doesn't complete the connection.

When? Got my Charge 5 for Christmas. Won't sync with my flip 3. Very disappointed.

You should get a software update from Samsung it's F721BXXU1BVL9 but seems
to ne released in stages

I manually updated my Android version. It works well with my charge 5 now.

You can manually go to your setting and update.

Don't have to wait for the phone to prompt for update.

No, you don't have to wait for the prompt but you do have to wait for the
rollout. I still haven't received an update and I check daily, manually.

That very much depends on your cell service provider. No update available
for fold 4 on Spectrum (VZW) yet.

What does early 2023 mean?

Looks like Fitbit support knows about the issue and a potential fix in early 2023.  My current workaround is to set-up my Charge 4 to the IPad Mini. I then set it up as a "Mobile Track" device on my Samsung Z Flip 3. 

The App would find the device, then show "Connecting" then goes back to re-try.  I could NOT see the Charge 4 as a USB device and could never get the 4 digit code to show on the Flip or the Charge 4 screen.

Have Galaxy Fold.  Today ran a new Samsung Update and it fixed the sync problem with my Luxe.  I am in the US in Tennessee and my carrier is Verizon.  All is good now

Yeah we've had a lot of Tennessee getting the update. Wish the rest of the
country would too. Come on Verizon.

AT&T here with Samsung Flip z4 and Charge 5 in California. No updates from Samsung/Android or Fitbit and I manually check every day, sometimes multiple times/day. Been without since the beginning of December after Android 13 update. Before that, my Charge 5 worked great. So incredibly frustrated! Good to see that some are getting resolutions, but I'd sure like to be included in that. Sigh...

What does this actually mean though, because currently you have THOUSANDS of customers with hundreds of pounds of useless technology on their wrists. 

"Early 2023" could be anything in the first half of the year ..?

I agree. Completely outrageous time line to fix this. It sounds like the
fix is there from an update by Samsung. just needs to make it to
everybody's phone. I'm hoping it happens soon.
