Failing to sync after Android 13 update Samsung Flip/Fold

I updated to Android 13 today.
From then on, no sync possible anymore.
I already:

  • Restarted my phone
  • Shut down the phone completly
  • Force quit Fitbit
  • Deleted and reinstalled Fitbit (should be the newest version)
  • Reset the Charge 5
  • Shut down Google Assistant (apparently that's a problem with the Sense and Android 13)
  • Restarted Bluetooth several times
  • Hard Reset the Charge 5

Now I'm stuck with a watch that can't be connected anymore and is stuck in install mode.

Edit: To clarify. The Charge 5 is being seen via bluetooth, i get's found by the app, but it doesn't complete the connection.

@flgirl5982, The same thing happened when the versa watch came out a couple of years ago. Took 10 months before the issue was resolved. There is no sense of urgency with this company.

So glad this isn't just me. My Luxe hasn't been working in quite a while now. Super annoying. They tried telling me it's a Samsung problem. Offered no solutions. So tired of problems with FitBit. Looking into the Garmin, as others have suggested.

It should already be in the media. I have Charge 5 with Z fold phone. Has not worked since beginning of December. Their work around to sync to another device does not help the legions of us who do not have another device. Picked up my Galaxy 5 watch yesterday. So far, so good. After 8 great years, bye bye Fitbit. This fiasco broke my spirit and motivation. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

@Liz456789, they told me it was a Samsung problem too. I went to Samsung who threw it back on FitBit saying it is a FitBit issue. My Bluetooth connects to everything else BUT my FitBit. It IS FITBIT problem NOT a Samsung issue. They need to wake up and smell the roses.

@Gretrev48, it is not in the media that I was able to find. Maybe they are trying to sweep it under the rug.

@rduke982 after my interaction today on the Samsung Community forum, I 100% agree that someone wants to sweep this under the rug!! I made 2 posts and also commented on someone else's post about it, and they were ALL deleted! Neither of us said anything offensive/inappropriate either. I received one message from a moderator saying it was deleted because there is already an "accepted solution" available,  and pointed me to a link that; a) was not related to the same phone model, b) was not related to the same Fitbit device, and c) is not a solution that actually solves the problem. When I asked why again, they claimed that it is Fitbit's responsibility to make sure their devices work correctly. And a little suspicious that there are HUNDREDS of comments in this forum about this issue, but ZERO on Samsung's forum. So clearly someone is trying to avoid/cover up any responsibility!

I was not even aware Samsung had a community forum. I might have to check it out. Why would they delete a post that wasn't offensive? There is no fix. Their customer care had me do a bunch of troubleshooting that I've done millions of times again and again. They didn't help and didn't listen. Just as bad as FitBit.

I contacted a few papers here in the UK about it but not heard back from
them

@sutty61, Samsung pushes it back on Fitbit. I'm sorry but I'm tired of the back and forth with them blaming it on each other. Someone needs to get with the ballgame and get a fix rolled out SOON!

@rduke982 they said they "have the right to remove any post at any time for any reason". Real cool. The second software update from Samsung DOES fix the issue when it finally randomly becomes available to you (I received it and all is working now), but I just can't believe they won't acknowledge that issue and solution or allow users to discuss it!

I might need to contact Samsung. They should roll that update out to everyone at the SAME time.

I just got an update on my Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 and I am able to do a download now on my Fitbit.  I will see how it goes.  My Charge 5 is having to do an update also.  Oh, I am in the USA if that matters???

Virginia. I would give it a couple days. I thought it would be months from now.

I just pushed out version 18 (for the flip) and the Bluetooth, still, does not show my Charge 4 when scanning for Bluetooth devices. I have rebooted the phone, once, and the Charge 4 twice. Issue for me not fixed. I’ll keep my work around for now. I have the Charge 4 connected to my iPad mini and have my phone setup as a “Mobile Tracker”. It take a little while to have the phone updated after my iPad mini updates.
