Not even 18 months old.. was wearing it when suddenly it got very very hot on my skin (nearly burning, left a red mark), I took it off and it showed an exclamation mark in a circle with a line through, then died. Won't charge, won't turn on, reset not possible, it seems as if the battery itself has short-circuited and fried the device. HELP!!

Hello and welcome to the forums @SunsetRunner

Since your Alta HR is under two years old and you're in the UK, the warranty ought to take care of you. Click to read the warranty information.

Meanwhile, I'll see if a Fitbit Moderator can't come over and give you some assistance. They are pretty awesome.
