Fitbit Alta fails to update

My Fitbit Alta (bought this August) wont update the new firmware. I've been trying it for days now but the download always breaks off in the middle of the update. It will start downloading for a couple of seconds and then shows the notification that it failed to download.
I've tried to restart the Fitbit, restart my phone (a Motorola 3rd G), update the Fitbit app on my phone, reinstalled the app on my phone, reinstalled the app on my computer and tried different locations for a more reliable wifi connection. None of it works, so what can I do?

It's nice to have you on board @Reneevr! Can you please confirm if you restarted your Alta by following these steps:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clasp the other end of the cable to the port on the back of your Alta. Alta will begin charging.
  1. Press the button on your charging cable three times within eight seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer.
  2. Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means Alta is restarting.
  3. After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If you have done so, please get in touch with Support. I'm sure that they can help further with this.

Good luck and keep me posted with the outcome! 😉
