I have been a fitbit user for five years, and believe it or not, I am still using the fitbit one which I love! My daughter recently switched to an Apple Watch and gave me her fitbit alta. I would love to try it, but in my brief research it seems that the alta and Samsung Galaxy 7 don't sync. I have had a lot of trouble syncing my fitbit one since I bought the Galaxy 7 as well. My question is this: will the alta sync with my Samsung Galaxy 7 phone? Is it worth me trying to figure this out, or should I stick with the one?
Thanks.
Lori

Is your Galaxy 7 the S7? If so it should work as it's on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices
If it (sort of) works with your One then there's a good chance it will work with the Alta. What you can do is try to add the Alta to your account leaving the One connected. You can then test out the Alta but just swap back to the One if you have problems or would just prefer a clip-on tracker from time to time. I started with the One and still have it and it's always been one of my favourites.
Go into the account section of the app (the icon looks like an ID card) and select "set up a device". Choose Alta and follow the prompts. This is quite safe and all your data, settings, badges etc will not be affected.
If you do decide to keep both fitbits connected this help file is worth reading: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715/
