Fitbit Blaze will nit connect to my Galaxy S8 Bluetooth

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I try to pair my Fitbit Blaze to my Galaxy S8 it does say pairing but get this message

Couldn't pair. Check settings for this device and try again.

I have tried almost everything including stopping the Fitbit App, Restarting my phone and turning Bluetooth off and then on.

Nothing works

I just want to get notifications working from Gmail and Calendar.

This makes me wonder why I got this watch

.

Hi @N7AS  I have the same phone and it worked great with my Blaze until I changed to the Alta HR. The devices pair to the email address, not the actual device - it's a bit different than conventional bluetooth pairing. Click to go to the Blaze user manual and related articles area. Let us know how things go for you.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

My BLAZE is now connected to my Galaxy S8 Bluetooth. I created 2 Calendar events and still no notifications. When I swipe up on the clock display, it says All caught up! No notifications. When I swipe down Notifications are on and just below that there is a music symbol Not Connected.

What do I do now?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @N7AS. I'll be happy to assist you with your Blaze connection inquiry. Thank you for mentioning the steps you have followed in order to resolve this situation.

To make sure your Fitbit device syncs and receives notifications from your Android phone, open the Settings app on your phone and confirm or adjust the following settings:

  • Turn off background restrictions or limitations:
    1. Go to Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app
    2. Tap Background restrictions or Background limits to turn off the setting.
  • Turn off battery limitations:
    1. Go to Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization.
    2. Change the view to All apps.
    3. Search for the Fitbit app and choose Not optimized.
  • Turn on location services and allow the Fitbit app to access your location. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app prompting me to turn on location services?

Thank you for your help and the heads up @Odyssey13.

Let me know how it goes.

I have some notifications working I think.

I found Location Services on my Galaxy S8 and selected ALL Aps, but Fitbit was not listed.

I think cellphones are a PITA.

The only notification that works is when my Blink XT camera arms and disarms. I still can't get notifications from Gmail, Texts and other stuff.
