Fitbit Flex Not Found OR Can't Communicate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Galaxy S5.  Since my tracker ran out of battery on Thursday, I cannot get it to sync with my phone.  It did sync with my computer.  Here's what I've tried:

- Resetting fitbit

- Restarting phone

- Toggling Bluetooth setting on & off

- Ensuring app is updated

I've done the top 3 in every order imaginable -- either way, it will not sync.  After resetting the fitbit, the it appears on my phone's list of available devices, but when I tap to connect to it, it states, "Can't communicate with Flex."  Then if I toggle bluetooth on & off, the device no longer appears in the list.  I see other suggestions to "forget" the fitbit from my list of bluetooth devices, but it isn't saved in the first place.

HELP.  Ready to give up on fitbit.

Hello @shikamboo, welcome to the Fitbit Community! I saw you are experiencing issues to pair your tracker with your phone.

However you have mentioned you are able to sync with your computer, if this is the case there is no need to pair your tracker again. Just log in using the same email address and password you used on your computer and your tracker should appear pair to your account in your phone.

Now if is paired but not syncing perhaps the following post will give you some extra help: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

Keep me posted how it goes. I'll be around!

Hello, not sure what I did, but now the thing won't sync to my phone OR my computer.  On my computer under Bluetooth settings, it does state that it's connected to the flex.  But the fitbit app on my computer states that the device can't be found and that I should check to see if it's synced to another device.  No... no, it is not synced elsewhere.  😞

^^Update on Tuesday: resetting fitbit fixed the issue on my computer but not phone.  Still waiting for an answer.

Hello @shikamboo, thank you for keep me posted. I'm being giving follow up to other Android users too, which is not an excuse so my apologies for not giving you answer sooner.

I saw you were having issues with your computer too but now is resolved, nonetheless the issue with the phone still persists.

Make sure you are running the last version of the Fitbit app. I believed after our last interaction was released the version 2.55 for Android.

To see what version of the Fitbit app is installed on your device:

  1. Tap the menu button.
  2. Tap Help.
  3. Tap Fitbit App.

If you have this version, please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized again, go back to your app and try again.

If this is not helping and you haven't tried it yet. Is to uninstall the app and reinstall it again.

See you soon, I'll be looking forward for any update you may have.
