Fitbit GPS not recording correctly

My FitBit charge 3 has suddenly stopped recording distances accurately - but when the map comes up, the route line is correct! For example I know my cycle to work is around 6.5  - 7.5 miles depending on the route. Today it recorded about 3.5 miles but the whole route was picked up! Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post. Since your Charge 3 use the connected GPS feature to route your exercise, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the Fitbit app:

 

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.

Hi Ricardo

I have a Samsung S7 Android. The first time I experienced the issue was
last week I think. The FitBit confirms that it is connected to my phone
(which is in my pocket) so all I can think is that it somehow disconnects
after I start cycling, I'm not sure. I had an issue 2 weeks ago where it
stopped syncing properly so I followed the steps you outlined below.
