In the same space as the cardio target for the day, there is now a box that says:
Fitbit Labs
Ready to upload your first lab report?
Get a simple summary of your lab report. If you're not not ready, please share why in the survey.
Get started
If I tap on "Get started", I am taken to a screen where I can scroll down and choose "No thanks" or "Agree & Continue". If I choose "No thanks", I never get a survey, it just closes, and the notification box never ever goes away.
It has been like this for a couple of days now. I don't want to participate in Fitbit Labs. I have turned off Fitbit Labs in my setting. Why is this box not going away??? I am tired of scrolling past it.

I found a workaround for myself since I was just frustrated that the Fitbit Labs was taking up too much screen space. I just changed the top Focus section to custom and then changed the three small stats in the focus section to the things that I was missing.

Updated app and tab is still there. Redid all previous steps and yep... Still there.

There is no solution, stop wasting your time with their suggestions.
I don't know what other solution is available to us as consumers.
Sorry for the bad news but I (and apparently all fitbit owners) am in the same situation.

Opting in doesn't make those tiles go away. I tried it.

I have done all the things. Nothing is working and the now TWO banners will not go away. What the heck?! If you're going to spam us with these banners, move them to the very bottom of the screen and not smack in the middle of my main tile and my heart rate. As a user of Fitbit for eight years, this is getting me fed up and if anyone knows of a better app that pairs with a Fitbit Charge 4, please let me know as Google is bent on not fixing this latest problem of many since they broke a perfectly good app. Yes I'm frustrated as heck and not a bit sorry for stating facts.

Some progress...I think. Just updated app to Version 4.46. Two of the three banners had an "X" in the upper right corner to close them. The only panel left with no way to close it is the one labelled "FitBit Labs Experiencing symptoms?" Went through the "Get stated" process and did not find a way to close/disable that panel. So far the two panels with the X did close and have they stayed closed even after closing and opening the app. Guess two out of three is better than nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
UPDATE - opened and closed the app a few more times and one other panel popped up. Don't remember what it was because it had an X to close it with. So it's back to just the one "Ready to upload your first lab report? panel. Still an improvement (I think) 🙂

I'm with @2Young2BThis0ld, I can't close any of them. I checked the playstore, but the 4.46 update has not been made available for my phone yet. Looking forward to getting rid of any of the windows.

My app version is 4.45, no updates are available to me in Google Play, and I still have a FitBit Labs banner that won't go away.

Just ONE banner? I have two: "Ready to upload your first lab report?" and "Experiencing symptoms?" Neither of them will disappear, no matter what I've tried. I want BOTH to disappear!

I'm using version 4.45, last updated on June 12, and STILL have the banners (text blocks? ads?) for "Ready to upload your first lab report" and "Experiencing symptoms?" on my phone. The brand/model of phone, carrier, or software (e.g., version of Android or whatever) doesn't seem to matter -- these two blocks STAY there, regardless of any user actions that have been noted yet.
Note: There are other threads in the Community you can follow about this same "issue" -- but none I've seen (so far) with a fix. If you want to look at other posts in other threads, try a search for banner ads, Fitbit Labs, lab report, or related terms.

We've gotten confirmation from the team that a fix to allow us to remove the Fitbit Lab banners from the Today page has just started to roll out or will soon be rolling out.
Please keep checking the Play Store for the app update and install it when it's available to you.

Hi @RiekoC - thanks for the update. Do you have a version number for the new update? I ask, because if it's version 4.46, that did not fix the problem 100% on one phone we installed it on (as reported in an earlier post in this thread). Fingers crossed it's a newer version than 4.46 with a complete fix. Time will tell 🙂

Yeah, this has been going on so long I'm confident it's intentional. Does it go away if you agree to upload your medical records? I wouldn't know because I do not under any circumstances intend to do that, but I imagine that was their plan.
I hope they got something out of it, im sure they've lost a lot of customers going forward. Like you, im not replacing my watch today, but my next will not likely be fitbit.

@Rasah Good question, I initially accepted the offer hoping the box would go away. It said I was on a waitlist, so when the box remained, I opted out hoping that would get rid of the box. That did not work either.

Which version of the software will this "fix" be a part of?
---
That update did NOT fix the problem. Neither did version 4.45 for this software.
---
Easiest way to update Fitbit app -- for me, at least -- is to check on Google Play and when I see an update there for my Fitbit app, I install it. (I've downloaded pretty much all of my Android apps from Google Play, and have GP set up to notify me when updates are available -- I don't do auto-update because I want to know what's being updated and when.)

Hello @BekW
The app updates roll out in waves. I know that I'm usually in the last wave to receive the updates.
Keep checking and install the update when it's available to you.

Hello @ExAlaskan , @CameraSue , @Rasah , @2Young2BThis0ld
I've reached out to the team to get information on the fix for the Fitbit Lab banners and confirm which app version has the fix. I've also let them know that ver 4.46 doesn't fix the banner issue.
It's an annoying bug that needs to be fixed. I'm as frustrated as everyone else with these persistent banners that won't go away.
