Fitbit Labs prompt will not GO AWAY

In the same space as the cardio target for the day, there is now a box that says:

Fitbit Labs

Ready to upload your first lab report?

Get a simple summary of your lab report. If you're not not ready, please share why in the survey.

Get started

If I tap on "Get started", I am taken to a screen where I can scroll down and choose "No thanks" or "Agree & Continue".  If I choose "No thanks", I never get a survey, it just closes, and the notification box never ever goes away.

It has been like this for a couple of days now. I don't want to participate in Fitbit Labs. I have turned off Fitbit Labs in my setting. Why is this box not going away??? I am tired of scrolling past it.

I wish I knew why Amazon and Google Play and Fitbit did things as they do!

Keep the faith. I'd expect it any day now.

Usually it's in the google play store, or sometimes it updates
automatically. Mune finally updated this afternoon and I could close the
prompt. If you go to the fitbit app in the google play store it will say
if there is an update available. They roll it out to different phones at
different times, though.

That's what I did - kept checking a couple of time a day, and then, on July
8th, SURPRISE, it was there.

FYI, since that installation and my tapping the "X" that was available
after I'd installed 4.47, the notification has stayed gone. 🙂
Best Answer
Yes, my version 4.47 arrived yesterday, and the box is now gone after
tapping the X. Hopefully not only will it stay gone, but if they afflict
us with anything else like this in the future it will come with the X.

Hello @turkishsue , @mitxelena14 , @bsette

The app updates are rolled out in waves.

It's been my experience that I'm usually in the last wave that gets the updates. Like you, I'm still waiting for the version 4.47 update so I can close that last annoying tile.

Be patient and keep checking. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer for us.

Hurray !!!!!!!!
And yes, I definitely hope the "X" will be there when we need/want it,
in the future!

I just checked and it's not there yet.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.  I guest we with "old" phones are at the bottom of the updates list?

I have a pixel pro 9, and no update for me 😭
Best Answer

@Mags2017 I'm in the same boat as you with an older phone. I have the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. I check google play twice a day for the fitbit update. I'm guessing any day now we'll see it and be rid of the labs.

The "timing" of receiving the update may very well be impacted by the
"age" of the make/model of device, but maybe it also ties in with
which part of the world in which you live?

Wishing you luck and a speedy arrival/download of the update!

Joining in here! I've had this problem for weeks and tried everything that people suggested but to no avail. I just want to be able to screenshot and share my stats without having half of the content blocked by this stupid pop up.

The 4.47 update that I downloaded from Google Play on 7/8/25, and installed
right after download was complete, gave me the "X" in the top right corner
of the notification (ad, text block, whatever). Tapping that "X" made the
"block of stuff" go away, and it hasn't returned. (I'd already done the opt
out from Fitbit Labs, etc., all to no avail.)

If you don't yet have version 4.47 of the Fitbit app software, it should
(hopefully) show up soon. Good luck!

As far as I know, the app rollout isn't dependent on your phone. When I updated from a Pixel 6 phone to the Pixel 8 phone when it was released, I was still in the last wave of app roll outs.

It seems that most Fitbit app updates typically complete in 3-4 weeks. So, keep checking the Play Store.

We have four devices with the Fitbit app installed.  Finally got updates (via Playstore) to all of them over a 1 week period.  New version fixed the banner issue on all the devices.  Patience is the answer 😀
