Did you mean:

Fitbit Labs prompt will not GO AWAY

ANSWERED

In the same space as the cardio target for the day, there is now a box that says:

Fitbit Labs

Ready to upload your first lab report?

Get a simple summary of your lab report. If you're not not ready, please share why in the survey.

Get started

If I tap on "Get started", I am taken to a screen where I can scroll down and choose "No thanks" or "Agree & Continue".  If I choose "No thanks", I never get a survey, it just closes, and the notification box never ever goes away.

It has been like this for a couple of days now. I don't want to participate in Fitbit Labs. I have turned off Fitbit Labs in my setting. Why is this box not going away??? I am tired of scrolling past it.

Spread the word: another new update for the Fitbit app!!!!  I installed 4.47 this morning, and the "Experiencing symptoms?" text (notification, ad, whatever!) had an "X" in the upper right corner ... and I clicked on it ... and the text block DISAPPEARED !!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully, it STAYS gone!!

Check your phone (or whatever device you use the Fitbit app on) for
the 4.47 update. I installed this latest update on my Samsung Android
phone this morning, sync'd my Charge 6, and had the "X" in the
upper-right corner that I clicked (tapped!) on, and PRESTO!! The
"Experiencing symptoms?" notification disappeared!!!!!!!!!!!!

Follow-up: I just did another sync -- now several hours after I'd
installed 4.47 -- and that ad/notification/text block/junk is STILL
gone! 🙂

All I can say is, try to hold out and be patient a bit longer. My wife
doesn't yet have that update for her Oxygen phone, either.

I just checked and found an update for the app in Google Play. And it fixed the problem! I won't say I am a happy user since I am tired of Fitbit trying to push their unwanted features so hard, but at least I have one less irritation when I open the app.

That would be awesome but where do I find the 4.47 update??

Hi everyone, and thank you for all your messages and feedback.

As some of our Community members explained, the Fitbit app update let them fix this issue.

The updates are rolled out in phases, so it's just a matter of time before you receive them.

To learn more about the Fitbit app update, may I suggest you to read and follow the steps shown here? How do I update the Fitbit app? (Note that there is a process for Android and one for iOS.)

If it's available to you it will show in the google play store, or it may
update automatically.

I'm guessing this was the version 4.47 update. That's what (finally) worked
for me! 🙂

I just checked, and there's no update available for me. I wish there was.
So tired of asking for a fix 🙄

Yay!  Just got Version 4.47 update on one of our phones.  Yes, the banner problem appears to be solved.  Who would have thought getting the ability to close a banner using a small "x" in the upper right-hand corner would bring such joy 🎉  Sometimes it's the little things.

Thanks to @MarioSFitbit and @JuanFitbit for helping work this issue.  All will be good in Fitbit land in our household once we get updates on all our devices.  So until the next time...

Timing of the rollout for this Fitbit update (and all of them!) seems
to depend on the device you're using. My wife hasn't gotten this yet
for her Pixel phone, but I got mine and updated my phone two days ago.
Hopeful note: So far, so good -- none of those obnoxious
"notifications" (offers? ads?) have returned ! 🙂

I updated Fitbit as suggested, and still have the Fitbit Labs message. I have a Samsung S22

It was version 4.47 that finally let me close the last notification
("Experiencing symptoms?"). I think there have been three updates (with
4.47 being the most recent) in the last month or so. I got 4.47 via Google
Play on July 8 for my S23.

I don't have my phone set up for automatic updates of anything,
including apps I've downloaded from Google Play, so I check for
updated apps on Google Play -- and that's where I "found" my 4.47
update of the Fitbit app (like I have for all my prior FB app
updates).

You might be able to open your FB app on your device, open the menu
from your "device picture" in that app, go to System, and look for an
update -- but I've never found that to be successful, maybe because
I've always used Google Play to download my Fitbit apps.

Sadly, you may just have to (try to) be patient until it shows up.
Good luck with that! (I am NOT a very patient person.)
