Fitbit Labs prompt will not GO AWAY

In the same space as the cardio target for the day, there is now a box that says:

Fitbit Labs

Ready to upload your first lab report?

Get a simple summary of your lab report. If you're not not ready, please share why in the survey.

Get started

If I tap on "Get started", I am taken to a screen where I can scroll down and choose "No thanks" or "Agree & Continue".  If I choose "No thanks", I never get a survey, it just closes, and the notification box never ever goes away.

It has been like this for a couple of days now. I don't want to participate in Fitbit Labs. I have turned off Fitbit Labs in my setting. Why is this box not going away??? I am tired of scrolling past it.

@Rasah Good question, I initially accepted the offer hoping the box would go away. It said I was on a waitlist, so when the box remained, I opted out hoping that would get rid of the box. That did not work either.

Which version of the software will this "fix" be a part of?

---

That update did NOT fix the problem. Neither did version 4.45 for this software.

Easiest way to update Fitbit app -- for me, at least -- is to check on Google Play and when I see an update there for my Fitbit app, I install it. (I've downloaded pretty much all of my Android apps from Google Play, and have GP set up to notify me when updates are available -- I don't do auto-update because I want to know what's being updated and when.)

Hello @BekW

The app updates roll out in waves. I know that I'm usually in the last wave to receive the updates.

Keep checking and install the update when it's available to you.

Hello @ExAlaskan , @CameraSue , @Rasah , @2Young2BThis0ld

I've reached out to the team to get information on the fix for the Fitbit Lab banners and confirm which app version has the fix. I've also let them know that ver 4.46 doesn't fix the banner issue.

It's an annoying bug that needs to be fixed. I'm as frustrated as everyone else with these persistent banners that won't go away.

Still no new update.

First, there is a newer version, 4.45 - but it didn't help me when I
installed it on June 12. I've seen some posts claiming ANOTHER update is
(maybe, possibly, perhaps) forthcoming that will (maybe, possibly, perhaps)
fix this issue.

Second, for now, it seems EVERYONE is still having those two blocks of text
(or notifications, or ads, or whatever anyone wants to call them - I call
them "annoyances" and some other things - on their Fitbit devices. No one
has yet found a way to remove, delete, cancel, or otherwise get rid of
them.

4.46 is not available on Google Play for Android (I have a Samsung Galaxy Stwenty Fiveg Ultra - make fun of me if you will, it still works like it was new and I love it).  I uninstalled the app and re-installed the 4.45 like I did over a week ago a few minutes ago, re-paired my Charge 4.  I am sitting here in shock.  the banners are gone.

Well here's a screen capture from one of our A_32_5G phones.

Maybe it's just not available for your version phone or country?  Doesn't really matter, it did not fix the issue anyway.  Hope they come out with fix soon.  It is not a show stopper for us, just an annoyance.  How hard is it to scroll down to the rest of the info we want to see anyway 😋

No laughing here - I have an S 23 Ultra, and no plans to change soon! (I'm
kinda impressed your Charge 4 is still working, tho.) 🙂

I'm more than impressed - I'm stunned - that uninstall, then reinstalling
4.45 got rid of the ads! That's really ALL you did? Wow!

Well, that was short and unsweet.  After uninstall, re-install and re-pairing, the banners were gone.  An hour later, they are back.  Come on, Fitbit - fix this, already!

I'm saddened to read your "they're back" post - but I can't say I'm
surprised. Those darned ads (banners, whatever) are more persistent and
annoying that the weeds in my yard!

I bought it new off of ebay, lol!  Yes, that's really all I did.  And the hour or so of no banners was just a tease as they came back.  And I shall never forgive Fitbit for selling out.

I hate this so much! I get the feeling that they are so desperate to get people to sign up for the hideously expensive AI junk that I assume powers Fitbit Labs that they have to promote it this way. NO ONE WANTS IT.

I certainly have NOT seen any posts from anyone who was/is happy these
"prompts" are showing up!
