Fitbit Versa will not update firmware

My fitbit app is the most current version, and my fitbit is syncing with my phone, but will not update the firmware.  My Versa is currently running version 32.33.1.30, which does not appear to be even close to the latest version and I cannot download certain fitbit apps due to the old firmware.  The fitbit was off for quite a while, but none of the methods I have tried to force it to update have worked.  I have uninstalled and installed the fitbit app and restarted the fitbit itself. Any ideas?

Also, the fitbit app says that my versa is up to date when I use the app's "check for updates".
