Today is Monday, but the next three days are already saying over 1.8k Calories Out. Is this predictive or a bug?

Hello @Rixi and welcome to the Community.  I suspect you use an Android phone.  This is a new bug in the Android app and Fitbit is aware.  There is no troubleshooting you can do to fix it.  You will need a Fitbit app update, but there is no timeframe for a fix.

My Fitbit app has suddenly started showing calories burnt for future days on my food tracking page. It's also not matching up calories burnt for the current day. Have tried force stop, uninstall etc and still having the issue. Any ideas?

Just happened to me as well.

Issue is also affecting others from reddit.

Thanks, hopefully someone from Fitbit picks up.

I understand what BMR is but this is obviously an app glitch as it has never done it before, and at minimum it should agree to calories burnt for the current day!

It's 10:32 on Tuesday as I start writing this. In the Food screen, my Fitbit app is showing 2,365 calories out (burned), which is not believable, for today. The home screen shows 1,361 calories out, which is believable. Even stranger, the Food screen is showing 2,359 calories out for each of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, which of course are entirely in the future so I clearly haven't burned any calories on those days yet. I suspect the issue with todays calories is related to those future calories. I haven't noticed any other problems with the app recently. I've tried force-stopping the app, clearing the its cache and restarting it - it made no difference. I checked the app settings for anything about prediction or the future, and couldn't find anything that seemed relevant, and I've been using the app for nearly a year and I've never seen this before.

I'm on up-to-date Android 14 on a Sumsung Galaxy A13 with no software updates outstanding. Apparently I'm not allowed to post the Fitbit app version number from the App Info (maybe it thinks it's a phone number or something), but the version starts with 4.23 and it should be fully up-to-date. My device is a Fitbit Charge 5.

Hello @anothersteve and welcome to the Community.  Does your app look like the screenshot in this post?  If so, I can merge your post with that one to help bring attention to this issue.

The app is showing that I have burned calories three to four days ahead. Example, today is Tuesday but the app is showing that I have burned calories for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I have reinstated the app but it still shows the same.

Best Answer

To add to this, it's now Tuesday and apparently is showing the calories out bar for Friday now having the extra amount.

Note, the calorie amount does not match on the actual Fitbit device. The device seems to be an accurate number.

any way to roll back to the old app? Poor QA work sending out something that makes new bugs in old working code. New bugs in new stuff is understabdable.

Best Answer

I am having this same problem. I also looked at settings, tried to force stop. I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

New update broke the Calorie Counter in the Food screen after this last update. Now shows calories burned on future days (looks like I've already burned calories for Wednesday through Saturday this week). Additionally, the calories burned today no longer matches the calories burned on the main dashboard.

Dashboard counter: 962

Food screen calls burned: 1708

Are other people having this issue?

Best Answer

I've got exactly the same issue. Happened today, have tried disconnecting, restarting, logging out and uninstalling. Same issue

I've tried all the stuff mentioned (logging out, turning off/on phone,
re-installing, etc...). It looks correct for a couple minutes and then it
refreshes and adds in 2122 calories for every day for the whole week. Looks
like someone left test data in the code and it will just keep regenerating.
They need to push out a new fix for this bug they added.

6 hours, and a workout later, the dashboard calories counter says 2098. The food screen "calories burned" is 1802.

I am having this EXACT same issue and I literally just signed in so I could write on the forum about it too. I don't know what's going on. I got it to fix itself temporarily by clearing the cache but some of the info is still incorrect. Mine has logged 2000 calories burned for the next THREE days. Calorie counter says I have 2000 more calories to eat despite only having burned 1800 calories and I haven't set my food plan to help me gain weight. This is very annyoing.

Best Answer

Finally fixed it by signing out, going into settings and force stopping the app, then signing back in and syncing. ...of course now exercise days isn't loading and is just a great blur. 😡
