Fitbit app crashes (3.12.1)

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've noticed on multiple occassions that Fitbit App 3.12.1 will freeze or become unresponsive. For example sometimes I'll hit the Fitbit App icon but it won't load. If I hit the button on phone to show open apps I'll see the fitbit app but I can't select it to make it active. What I can do is swipe it away to the right to force close it, and the reopen it withe icon. In other cases the Fitbit App simply closes without my knowing it.  It all just feels like a general stability issue...maybe a memory leak somewhere? Thanks. Running on Android 9. Adaptive battery OFF, power exclusion ON for Fitbit App.

Hi @rc26, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using to check the Fitbit app? When was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, please try the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Okay, completely removed Fitbit App, restarted phone, installed Fitbit App. I'll update if I notice problems again. Phone is a LG ThinQ 7, android 9.

Two fails today so far. The Fitbit App just stops operating correctly. My clockface tells me the peersocket closed, I look at the Fitbit App on the phone and it looks like the trying to sync progress bar goes a short distance and advances no further. I wait a bit, nothing happens. I reload the watch face, and my clockface reports a peersocket error. Meanwhile fitbit app doesn't successfully sync. Then I close the Fitbit App and reopen it. Peersocket opens, syncs, all is well. What would be great is if I/we didn't have to close and reopen the Fitbit App.
