Same issue with Samsung Galaxy S8, running Android 7. Wi-fi connection is fast, but it takes very long for log food tabs to load after logging one food. Also going back to food graph takes forever. Tried log out/log in to app, restart app, restart phone. Phone restart helped a little, but not for too long - issue repeated after few food entries.

I'm having similar issues - the food database is painfully slow.
Even when at home with a 100gb internet.
I've partially worked around it by selecting next items while it's still logging previous.

I'm also using a Samsung Galaxy. I feel the same way you do. Ive tried everything with my phone. I've lost 40 pounds in 4 months by tracking my calories in and calories out,and exercise along with water and sleep. I sure wish there was an answer.

@RobertoME Yes, the food log is always very slow and very frustrating to use. When I change the nationality of the db, for instance, I have to restart the app a couple times to use it.

Hi there Android users!! I have seen you have been experiencing issues with the Fitbit app, So I brought together your concerns in one thread to keep an eye on this issue.
What drew my attention is that the app is specifically slow at the moment to log food. So I'm wondering how exactly is running slow the app in the food portion? Is not loading your food list or is taking to much time to load search results? Other way I can think is slow is at the moment to log an entry, is it taking more time that is expected?
In the case of @SunsetRunner I know the issue still persists, but I'm wondering how it goes for you @Johnnydollar, @buonarotti and @AgneM?
If the app continues with this problem perhaps doing these steps will get you back on track:
Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
Make sure the app is installed in the internal storage of your phone, in some cases if the app is stalled in the external storage, the functionality of the app might get slower.
Keep me posted how it goes. I'll be around!

Hi, I have had this problem also for a long time, posted initially in the iOS forum because that is where I found the topic (I think it was started earlier than this one?) but since I have an Android device I will stick with this topic now. Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android Lollipop 5.0.1 biggest problem is when logging food and waiting to return to the Frequent/Recent/Custom tabbed screen after logging a food item. I cannot even start to search for another item, whatever I have typed will be erased when the screen finally returns. So I don't know how others have said they start logging their next item; my device just completely locks up while searching. But sometimes it is much faster, and nothing seems to make a difference - not restarting the phone, clearing cache, etc. It might help for a while but not for very long. And wifi source does not seem to affect it either I don't think. I do notice that for a lot of food items, there are sometimes many seemingly identical entries (I typically type the item and search instead of scanning barcode, as many times the information that comes up when scanning the barcode does not match what is on the package; another frustrating aspect of logging food in Fitbit). I wonder if the many duplicates are causing the slowness. But as I said, it is not slow for me all of the time, but often.

Update: About a month ago I (finally) upgraded my smartphone from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to a Samsung Galaxy S9+ running Oreo.(8.0.0) and have had NO issues logging food anymore. Yay! Occasionally there is a very slight delay after logging a food item before being able to log the next, but this has been pretty rare (only a few times) and still has been a very minute delay compared to before.

My husband has recently started to experience this slowness on the food loading component of app. All the rest of app is fine. I have exactly same mobile; both purchased at same time, and mine is (so far) without any problem. They are Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017).

Hi. For last few days food logging in Fitbit app is very slow. It takes very long for frequent, recent, custom and my foods lists to load. Also when choosing food from any of those lists it takes very long for screen with food detail to load. After saving - food screen also is loading for quite some time and shows incorrect cals in and macronutrients (I usually go to web page to see correct numbers...).
I tried to clear app cache - but it didn't help.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 11, network connection is good.
