Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @JillSho.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your efforts and recommend trying the following:

1. Log out of the Fitbit app.
2. Force stop the Fitbit app: open your phone's Settings > Applications > find the Fitbit app > Storage > Clear cache > go back and tap Force stop.
3. Reboot your phone.
4. Check our tips for using the Fitbit app on your Android phone at What are some tips for using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?
5. Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.

By the way, I've moved your post to the Android App board so we can keep our forums organized.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply, @JillSho.

router is a device that provides Wi-Fi and some users found that restarting the router helps in resolving the issue you're experiencing.

Have no.idea how that would help when the app is on my phone . The fit bit app keeps saying incorrect password or essential maintenance. Then all of as sudden lets me log on.
