Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Hello @SteveH, @Purrstachio, @Markirs and @AnnieMack. Welcome to the Forums @Ryan76nz, @Empee , and @Farmgirl86.

@SteveH Thanks for being around to help! It's always great to see you around.

@Purrstachio and @Ryan76nz, Please know that MFP is directly working on it and that it is affecting all sorts of different users, not only users with the new version of the Dashboard.

@Empee, Please do follow the steps recommended by @SteveH. They will help you get the alarms set up and synced.

Please do know that we take all feedback seriously and that we are looking for ways to improve the overall Fitbit experience.

Is that why it no longer sync's with "my fitness pal?" Vetsion 2.94

@wxchick no, it seems the problem with the sync is on the MyFitnessPal side and not related to the 2.94 update

Ok, will check it out from that side. When will the new dashboard be released?

Hello guys! I'm here to continue providing assistance, my apologies for the delay in responding. Thanks for your reply and update @wxchick, also, thanks for the information that was shared on your post @SteveH, nice to see you here.

@wxchick Just as stated on @SteveH, your Fitbit app version is not related to the syncing difficulties experienced with MyFitnessPal, this is a known issue and you can find more information about it on: Fitbit Sync Issues. Regarding the new dashboard design, I'd like to let you know that since the Fitbit app version 2.92 users begin to receive the new app design update. That said, I recommend you to keep your Android device up to date and the Fitbit app as well. For more information about the new design, please check What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

I'll be here if you have any additional questions.

Just an update and observation.

I have a google pixel 2 that is running android 10 beta 3 update.

After a small problem getting it to sync Fitbit Dashboard ver 2.94 seems to be working ok.

As an aside I think the beta program has some small issues with the updated bluetooth application.   I have issue across many other apps.

Hey there,

I recently started again with some running and biking. What immediately popped into my eye was that the preparation for Connected GPS takes longer than 5min all the time.

I mean that screen before you start an excerise.

I uninstalled the current release and reverted back to 2.74.2 and the preparation takes only 15-30sec.

I suggest you dig into some sync issues 🙂 if you need anything from me in regards to logs or anything else I'm right here!

So it looks like my Fitbit wants to do this update but it wont go past the update screen it just keeps loading for a long time then says that fitbit.com is down come back later?? Ivr tried starting the app over and cutting my phone off then back on! Any suggestions??

@SunsetRunner you could always submit your logs with a note on your issue, my connected GPS with the latest app on the Sprint galaxy S8 takes about 10-15 seconds to connect. This is faster than any previous app version and still amazes me.

@Claytonpa which update are you referring to? This thread is about an app update and would require the user to do the update through the Google Play Store.

I've had my Fitbit for a few weeks now and absilutly love the dash board! It has been such a great experience for me that my husband decided he wanted one. When we downloaded the app on his phone it was completley different. That's when we found out that I have the new app experience and he does not. For being new Fitbit users the new layout is so much better! We can't wait for his app to update to be like mine.

Hey @Rich_Laue, to which version are you referring to? 2.94 or 2.95. I have the 2.95 in queue for some days now but I'm still hesitating to install it...

The 2.94, not the one with tiles though. If you chose to download the 2.95 please share what you think of it

Well I just installed it and It seems that the 2.95 performs better in terms of syncing than the 2.94.. But this is just a statement from someone who sat on his couch for the last hour and played around. Real live testing will follow tomorrow/Monday

The dashboard one sees is not related to the app version.

@SunsetRunner for the last month with at least one update a week I have found GPS working really smooth. Screenshot_20190615-184337_Fitbit.jpg

@Rich_Laue : I really had my issues with v2.94. That is all I can say. And except for resetting my phone and watch to factory default I tried everything to resolve the syncing issues before exercises.

I unpaired the watch, resetted the app. I uninstalled the app. I just unpaired my watch. I restarted both devices and so on. But nothing really helped. Then I reverted back to a Version which really helped me last year where the dashboard was broken after an update. That was v2.74.2 and this version worked like a charm an also had the notification widget which I personally miss...

Yesterday I updated to the public v2.95 and this version seems to work so far.  I'll keep you posted.
