I read that Fitbit will be bought by Google. Is this true and, if so, when will this happen? Or has it already happened?
P.S. There is no forum topic dedicated to this subject, so I just had to choose one.

The intention to buy was announced last year. The deal is still going through regulatory approval and may yet not happen. If it does go through the only date for completion I've seen is sometime in 2020

So, it has not happened yet. Good news! Will Fitbit still sell my information and history if I delete my account before the purchase?
(I have been trying to keep Google's prying fingers out of my live, the last thing I want is that Google has my entire history, including where I have been, when and how I slept, my heart rate and whatever else they may deduct from my information.)

According to that press release: "The company never sells personal information, and Fitbit health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads."
But if you are anti-Google then I guess you may choose to be sceptical about that.
