Are you viewing the app on a LG Tablet, @Tdt21987? If so, this is a memory problem. I have a LG G Pad F 8.0, and I experienced the same problems due to the tablets memory limitations. I can open the app on my HTC One M9 phone, and the maps load instantly.

Well, if your phone has enough memory to load the map, as @USAF-Larry mentioned, perhaps this issue is more related to an issue with the app itself. So let me suggest you something, try to log out from the app and then log back in. Then try to use the GPS again and let me know if this time loads the details along with the map.
