Sorry for the long note.
I have a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and recently got a Google Pixel Watch 4.
Fitbit is installed on the Pixel 10 Pro XL as well on the Pixel Watch. I've subscribed Fitbit Premium.
I'm using almost every Google devices for the last 8 years. The Pixel Watch 4 is my first Pixel Watch.
My other sports watch is a Garmin Forerunner 265 with Garmin Connect on my Pixel 10 Pro XL.
I understand that these two sports ecosystems cannot be compared one-to-one.
Nevertheless I'm very unhappy with Fitbit at least in combination with the Pixel Watch 4. So, some complaints may relate to Fitbit, some to the watch or the combination of both. I haven't any experiences with Fitbit on other devices.
1. I cannot connect a HR chest strap with Fitbit. Google Gemini says that the watch is able to connect to a Bluetooth HR chest strap but Fitbit will not read the data.
2. Fitbit does not have blood pressure capabilities. There is no data field for blood pressure in Fitbit. And again Fitbit will not read blood pressure data from a connected Bluetooth device. For software that claims to be software for tracking and analyzing sports and health activities, this is definitely and absolutely a no-go.
3. The options to define what is shown on the watch during activities is limited and it cannot be done in the Fitbit app on the smartphone but only on the watch. The number of data fields which can be shown, the order of the shown data fields and sometimes which kind of data. For example, if you want to track everything regarding HR I would be very interested in HR% of my maximum HR (which I have determined by myself or by medical tests).
4. Recently I've tracked a short running exercise to test the capabilities of Fitbit on the Pixel watch. It was a roundtrip, start and end at the same location. For what reasons ever Fitbit or the watch has stopped tracking for about 1 km in the middle of the run. Although there are no trees or buildings which could interfere the GPS signal. After the run the activity was shown in the Fitbit app on the smartphone. With start and end at the same location which was shown on the GPS map of the recorded run. The run was recorded with 18 minutes. I changed the name of the exercise. After that the end location was 550 m before the real end location where I actually stopped the tracking. The run was now only 13 minutes. This is incredible and not acceptable.
