There should have been an option in the Fitbit app to get the Premium subscription when you first set up your new Fitbit. But it sounds like you didn't see that option or unintentionally skipped over it during setup.

At this point, you probably should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link) and see if they can help you get your 6 months free Premium subscription for your account.
