My first flex 2 died the other week and I just received my replacement yesterday. I've linked it to my account and it counts steps but when I sync while walking with this tracker, my phone app (android) updates to where I was when I synced but doesn't keep the connection to show the steps as I continue to walk.
I used this all the time to track my progress on my first tracker but I can't figure out how to do the same thing on this one. Was there a software change that removed this feature or do I just have a buggy new tracker? I can't really tell.

Hello @Geoffreys, good to see you again in the Fitbit Community! This option has not been modify in latest updates. However is require for your phone and tracker maintain a continues communication so the data can be updated in real-time. Sometimes this might be get interrupted and the information wont go through, although your Flex 2 will be recording your steps so you can see your steps on your Dashboard after you have synced.
Depending your Android device, these tips might make syncing easier:
- The Always Connected option in the Fitbit app is on. This improves the Bluetooth connection between your phone and tracker. Note that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your tracker to drain more quickly than normal.
- You've tried turning on All-Day Sync in the Fitbit app. This setting prompts your tracker to periodically sync with the Fitbit app but may shorten battery life on your mobile device or tracker.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
