Food plan doesn't work anymore

If I go to edit my food plan in the Fitbit app on my Oneplus 10T phone, then I just getting a "please wait" (see attached) after I've entered all the details.  Never goes and I have to force quit the app.    I've tried deleting the app cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and restarting the phone.  Nothing works.

Tried the same on an Android Tablet (Xiaomi Pad 7) and the app just crashes, with the crash report as attached.

Anybody else having this problem?  I'm running v4.52 of the app on both devices.OnePlus10TOnePlus10TXiaomi Pad crash reportXiaomi Pad crash report

@speedf the OxygenOS on your Oneplus phone is slightly different than Android and has an unfortunate tendency to kill background processes. This can interfere with proper operation of the Fitbit app. There are some tips here that may resolve the issue.

Your Xiaomi tablet uses HyperOS, which should be compatible with the Fitbit app. I would suggest checking that battery optimization is disabled for the Fitbit app and verify that background permissions are enabled.

Nope.  This has nothing to do with battery optimisation.  I've used this feature before on these devices and had no problem.

The Android version of the Fitbit app is developed and optimized for stock Android. Compatibility with modified Android versions, like OxygenOS and HyperOS, is never certain and can change any time there is an update to the Fitbit app or to those modified OSs. You may want to reach out to OnePlus and/or Xiaomi about optimizing compatibility of their devices with the Fitbit app.

I would also repeat my suggestion that you try the troubleshooting in the link that I provided earlier. Those steps have worked for other people with OnePlus devices.

I'm having this exact issue on a Galaxy S21 running one UI Version 7.0 - Android Version 15. The app will either freeze with the please wait prompt, reset to the main page or crash / close all together when attempting to edit and update the food plan.

Yup.  It's an issue with the app or, my best guess from looking at the error logs, an issue with the Fitbit back end services.  Nothing to do with "non stock android".

To report an app issue, tap your user icon in the upper right corner of the app and select "Feedback".

Seeing the same issue on my Google Pixel 8.

So, confirmed as not just affecting "non-stock" android devices.  I've gone back a few versions of the Fitbit app, and it the problem is still there.  Adds to my belief that this is a back-end problem on the Fitbit server side.  Come on Google - since taking on Fitbit, you've made a right mess of the app and the services it supplies.  Where is your quality checking?

Same Problem. Google Pixel 9. I updated the app and now instead of having the infinite "please wait" screen (my original problem that caused me to update app), it's now got mismatched data and crashes instead. Before updating, I tried clearing the app cache, and also logged out and restarted phone before logging back in. No luck, which is when I updated the app.

Now when I click "Edit food plan" it shows my old food plan (-750 cal deficit), but when I tap on that, it shows what I tried to set it as (easier plan,. -250 daily calorie deficit (I'm using the terminology on the screen)) but when I tap "edit plan" it goes back to the first page where it says -750 cal deficit. If I keep tapping "Food Plan" and "edit Plan" and going around in circles, it eventually crashes.

Same here. Pixel 9 user. Food plan will not save (stuck on please wait). I tried uninstalling, logged out, reset phone, clear storage and cache, and nothing. I was waiting for someone else to start a forum cause I thought it was me. Definitely a fitbit/Google issue.

Same here with a OnePlus Nord and an Inspire. I just phoned Fitbit's helpdesk in The Netherlands. I had to update everything, but still nothing. They couldn't do anything more for me. It wasn't a known problem! So it would be best to make it a known problem by giving feedback to Google. And then hopefully they'll fix this in a later update.

Just adding another datapoint, I have the same issue here. I'm running stock android on a Pixel 9. I'm also encountering issues when trying to save a weight / body fat % goal, maybe they're related.

Just tried updating the app on my Galaxy S21 and it still does the "Please wait" message forever.

Hello, I have also been frustrated by this issue. I don't know if something has changed today but I have managed to amend my plan. I went via the account icon in the top left of the app > fitbit settings >  nutrition & weight > food plan. It presented as though I didn't already have one (I did). I went through and set it up, saved fine. I subsequently decided it was too easy a target and was able to change it again no problem. I hope it has also sorted itself for others.
