Food tracker "recent" log

I have the app on my phone, but it has gradually accumulated a lot of "recent" foods. Like... 200+ different things, maybe 300. My problem is that it took something I ate yesterday and put it on the bottom of the WHOLE list, while something I haven't eaten in 5 months is in the top 30. I hate searching for my recent foods, and it discourages me from tracking my intake. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to clean up the recent food history a little bit, without fully wiping it?
