Friends showing "no recent activity"

When I create a challenge and go to invite my friends all of them show "no recent activity".  I'm using a Moto Z Force 2 phone.

@Michellebiz Welcome! It's great to see you around!

Sorry to hear that your friends aren't showing any recent activity on your app. Have you consulted with them if they are syncing their devices? Also try logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

Let me know how it goes.

I am having the same issue. The Fitbit users have steps posted when you check out the Community feature Friends list, everyone is ranked according to step count there. However when you go to invite folks to individual challenges every person that is already ranked with a step count all of a sudden shows No Recent Activity for EVERY user. This makes it difficult to invite folks to challenges since you can’t readily compare the step counts at the group challenge invite stage because you can’t see the step stats. In other words you would not want to have a bunch of really high steppers with folks that have limited steps so before you send the invite you have to check the step stats from the Community link instead of straight from the Challenges link. This has been going on for several weeks even after a few app updates.

@Michellebiz  I am having the same issue. @AlvaroFitbit please see my response to this issue. This is not the standard issue regarding a few users no longer active. This is a problem with the step count not visible for ANY steppers in the Challenge Invite Friends view. Folks that are already ranked & clearly active are showing up as No Recent Activity which is incorrect as they are shown with a step rank under Community. Please provide a resolution soon as this has been going on for several weeks now and very inconvenient when trying to start a challenge. I have only been joining group challenges and not initiating new challenges because of this issue. I am using a Samsung S8+. Thank you for whatever assistance you can provide.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Mine has started doing this as well.

It's really frustrating, I've had the same issue for months, when inviting friends to a challenge they ALL show as no recent activity,

@SunsetRunner  I keep hoping one of these app updates will resolve the issue but as usual it seems like they are fixing unknown bug & “performance improvements”. I wish there was somewhere on the app where we can see any known systems issues reported and info about what fixes have been made & when instead of having to log into the website and just post our wish list into the abyss and search for folks with the same issue to see if anyone has a resolution.

Having the same issue for months and still no resolve

This is not a viable solution

And to save time on any "advise" from the team, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the fitbit  app, I have disconnected and reconnected my watch, I have rebooted my watch whilst on charge, this is more than a refresh problem. I've tried changing my privacy settings from friends to public. Please can this be looked into, it really has gone on for quite some time now.

I've been having this problem for about 2 or more months. Finally decided to check the forums to see if there was a fix. Sad to see it has been known, but no information

Yes, same here several months. I posted in the wrong forum, and was basically ignored.  This also means when getting friend requests they show no activity, no badges etc. This makes it difficult to judge if someone is a scammer/cat phisher.  Please address this issue!!

Or acknowledge the problem!

Still waiting for this issue to be addressed. I am beginning to regret sticking with fitbit upon replacing my Surge.

Any updates for this issue?

Best Answer

Radio silence-don’t know if they are even monitoring the Fitbit.com community chatter regarding issues or if action only happens when the techs see chatter about an issue on the app? So much for interactive experience improvement- let’s get what used to work, working again before moving on to the next “Big Idea”.

@AlvaroFitbitAny updates? My fitbit application has a whole new interface but this feature is still not working. Has root cause been identified? Is there a viable workaround we can perform until a permanent solution could be implemented?

I regret purchasing a new fitbit again. The motivation of "friends" who are similarly active is no longer there. The challenges are discouraging more than encouraging when the groups are all over the place. Some people have 20k steps in the workweek hustle and others have 120k. Not a very good challenge for anyone!

FIX THIS!!!!

@AlvaroFitbit @AlejandraFitbit this issue is on Fitbit's end, not the user's end.  It isn't about restarting our fitbits, the app, uninstalling, reinstalling. When I did that, I lost EVERYONE'S recent activity.

What is the status on this problem?

Best Answer

Alvaro, I am having the same issue. I recently switched to a Google Pixel 3a from an iPhone, and this was never a problem on my iPhone - only on Android. When I go to invite friends to challenges, under my friends list, it says "no recent activity" under every single friend. However, I know many of them have activity because I compete with them every week. Thanks!

According to this thread ...

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/No-Recent-Activity-when-trying-to-invite-to-a-Challenge/...

@RicardoFitbit says "I'd like to share that we’re aware of this specific inconvenience and working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible to resolve it. We appreciate your understanding and patience for any trouble this may cause, we are looking forward to getting you back on track with this bug fixed."

That was almost 2 months ago ... so I'm convinced that they are working "quickly as possible". But apparently it is at least on the developers roadmap.
