My Charge 3 still pairs fine with my phone for synching data  with the app ... But when starting exercises will no longer connect to the phone for GPS... It worked great before the update... 😞

Hello @F.Fletch.

Thanks for bringing this details up, I'd like to take a closer look at what is going on.

To better understand what is going on I want to ask you some questions:

  • What phone are you using to connect to your Charge 3?
  • Do you get any error message when you are trying get the GPS to connect?

In the meantime, let's try restarting both the Fitbit and the phone before start the tracking of the activity. Also, what activity are you tracking?

Keep me posted on how it goes or let me know if you have any further questions.

I'm on an LG G6, Android 8.0

The most recent activities where the Charge 3 failed to connect to the phone for GPS were walking and cycling.

I've don't the full reset routine, but will try it again tonight, and will try to connect the phone to track a walk.

Oh, and I should mention that it appears even normal data syncing is breaking once a day... Bouncing *both* the phone and the Charge3 fixes that, but not the GPS syncing. Also, I know GPS on my phone is working in general, as I've continued to is other GPS enabled apps just fine.

Hello @F.Fletch.

Thanks for your quick reply and for trying the steps I recommended.

My recommendation in this case would be to try to make sure that your phone and Fitbit are on the same side of your body when you are tracking those activities. Additionally, please wait and make sure that you can see that the connection was established between the two before starting the activity.

Keep me posted on how it goes or if you have any other questions.

Well after all those steps, I could get a GPS connection, but it would drop and reconnect constantly (My wrist was buzzing like crazy...)

I will try the "Same side" phone placement tomorrow.

So here is what I've done now:

1) Shut off location services for everything except Fitbit and Google Maps. I'm NOT shutting it off for Maps 🙂

2) Deleted Fitbit App

3) Unpaired Fitbit

4) Rebooted phone

5) Deleted user data from Charge 3, rebooted Charge 3

6) Reinstalled Fitbit App

7) Set up Charge 3

Thanks for those updates and for sharing the steps that you have tested.

Please do keep me posted on how this all goes. I'd definitely like to know. Hopefully everything that you have done will get it working properly next time you track an activity.

Let me know if there are any other questions on the matter.
