I've been trying for the last almost 4 HOURS to get my new Versa set up. I have a Samsung Note 8 and have checked all permissions and settings. I have turned both the phone and watch off and back on several times. I have unitstalled the app at least 3 times and it is still not updating the firmaware. The watch wont even get passed the "Download the app" screen.
I am now VERY frustrated and about to pack it up and send it back.

This could be happening because the Note 8.0 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.
As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the set up..
If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to set up with other devices.
