Goal Setting

Hi Community,

Some of you may notice a tile on your dashboard that prompts you to set an array of personalized goals, and we'd like to offer you some tips. (Please keep in mind that this feature is going out to new users only, and not all new users at that. Don't be alarmed if you don't see it!)

Here's an example of what Goal Setting might look like for you:

Tip 1: If you dismiss the dashboard notification to set goals, this notification will not come back, and you will not be able to set goals.

Tip 2: Please try to sync your tracker each and every day that you are participating in Goal Setting.

Is it possible to change goals when set? Cat Embarassed

@SunsetRunner Yes, it is possible to change your goals once you've set them just not through the Guided Goals process. Your goals can be changed via the "goals tile" on the online Dashboard or your Fitbit apps settings page.

Hi there. The weekly exercise goals seems to have disappeared from the Android app and the online dashboard. Can we get some information on how to change it?

They are still on my on-line Dashboard, @SunsetRunner.  If I highlight the Goals Tile, and then click on the Settings Gear Icon at the bottom that tile, it brings up the goals for daily or weekly and allows me to change them.

On the Android app when I open an Activity and then click on the Settings Gear Icon, I only see goals for daily, not weekly, so I am not sure they would be set there.

Thanks for looking into it. Are you seeing the goal for setting the number of weekly exercise sessions you want? I'm missing that one - maybe it's an account thing.  Here's what my Weekly Goal tile looks like.Screen Shot 2016-10-11 at 12.37.10 PM.png

You are correct, there are no weekly goals for Calories nor Active Minutes, just daily goals for those two.

There should be a weekly goal for exercise sessions, too. It's used in the app but there's nowhere to change it.  That's what I'm posting about.

Hey, @SunsetRunner! Nice to see you. That is a very good idea. Why don't you share it on our Feature Suggestions board?

The feature exists already. It's currently broken because there's no way to change it. That's why I'm posting here, to bring attention to the fact that the feature mentioned here (changing your goals) is currently broken/missing.

These are the incorrect instructions from the FitBit web site: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1853/

Hey, @SunsetRunner! Oh I see. Ok, what is the exact name of the Feature Suggestion? Could you please share the link so I can check it out?

I put a link to the "feature" in my last post - it wasn't a feature suggestion but something that FitBit had already done. I was pointing out a broken goal-setting screen. @FerdinandFitbit fixed it for me by recommendintg that I re-install the app. The screen re-appeared and I was able to change my goal.

@SunsetRunner, Oh, I understand now. Thank you so much for the clarification and letting me know that @FerdinandFitbit solved your problem! Yay!

I closed out of this when it showed up in my app thinking I'd be able to do it later, but the option looks gone forever. It's been 2yrs since this was rolled out - can I access it somehow?? Very disappointed if not.

Hello, is this still a "dismiss it once and never get another opportunity situation?" I backed out of the screen that offered to help me set goals and haven't been able to find it again.

I can access it by clicking on the "Exercise" tile on my Android
dashboard. In the upper right, there's a gear icon to click on. That lets
you set your goals.

If you don't see it, try re-installing the app. Looks like that's what I
needed to do back when I posted this.

Thanks, I re-installed the app and have been able to set and re-set goals. I still haven't gotten another chance at that "Where would you like to start?" screen, so maybe I would have to have an entire new account for that. Oh, well.
