Logged into the app today to find that hourly steps data had somehow been erased, although today's hourly steps were still tracking. I found another forum thread that suggested that uninstalling and reinstalling the app would fix the issue, but all it did was delete today's hourly steps data. Also noticed that it was taking much longer to import food tracking from MyFitnessPal, but I'm not sure if it's related. I'm running the most recent Fitbit app update on Android 9.
Edit: I notice that Fitbit.com is showing today's hourly step data, but I can't see the hourly step data history (not sure if it's only accessible via the app or if I just can't access the data via the mobile website.) & I'm using a Charge 3 that I bought just a couple of weeks ago, to replace an old Alta that I hadn't worn in about a year.

A warm welcome to the Community @mcfeda. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting done.
I appreciate the research done prior posting. Your hourly step data should be available in the Fitbit app, since you mentioned that you just bought a Charge 3 to replace your Alta, I would like you to make sure you're logged into the same account that you were before changing your tracker. You can learn more about it by checking this article: What are hourly activity goals?
Regarding the slow sync you're having with MyFitnessPal, you can try unlinking both applications.
Let me know how it goes.
