This seems like a silly question but I want to add friends from the couch to 5k group but can't seem to add without knowing usernames. How do you find them.

Is this a Couch to 5K a fitbit group?

Are you able to contact these friends directly? 

If so, then send them a link to your profile page and let them add you?
