All Fitbit trackers get the date and time from the phone, or other sync device, every time it syncs.  Other than time zone issues if off by an exact number of hours, syncing is the only way to set date and/or time. 

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
