The Fitbit App requires a watch connection and an Internet connection in order to sync
Sometimes they get stuck without knowing which is causing the problem.
The following quick fix can avoid the more complicated solutions in some cases, but they may still be necessary.
On the phone swipe off the Fitbit App window and turn off the Bluetooth, Mobile data and Wifi.
Open the Fitbit App agin and do a manual sync - it will fail
Turn on Bluetooth and do a manual sync - it will also fail
Turn on mobile data and do a manual sync - it may work
Turn on Wifi and do a manual sync - it should be working.
If not, follow Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
Which often involves logging out of the Fitbit App and restarting the watch and phone for starters and ensuring there is only one device running the Fitbit App.

@Guy_ one thing. On Charge 6, I restarted the device to fix the sync problem (it worked) but I lost 2 runs which hasn't synced yet so there is some risk of losing data (which I though shouldn't be a problem because all activities should be kept on the tracker even if I reboot it but apparently sometimes they are and other times not).
