Does anyone know how can I  get the average sleep Hours back where it was I find the fitbit sleep score totally  useless. I had 5 hours 40 min sleep got a sleep score of 82 rated good "what the ?" How could that possibly be a good nights sleep!!!.  I just want to know my average hours for the week back where it was instead of the useless sleep score.

100% agree. Long battery and sleep tracking were the two reasons I returned an Apple Watch and got a Fitbit instead.

The score is absolutely meaningless to me. I want to know how many hours of sleep I got. And my weekly average.

Please bring back the old layout.

I have a fitbit flex. I just updated the app. I see no arrows on my sleep tile and no options in settings to track my average sleep. My sleep score is a 0 each week, which is what I give the app now. @LizzyFitbit it's ridiculous that there's nothing in settings about this, that the app was changed with no explanation to remove a feature so many people use. And dozens of comments to figure it out and people still have issues.

Its just a bit upsetting that actual data is no longer available and sleep scores that have no real indication of how I slept have replaced it.  Sleep tracking is one of the things that differentiates Fitbit from Apple and with loss of accurate sleep data I might as well switch over to an Apple watch as it has more functionality.

I agree -the sleep score is completely useless. Fitbit should change it back to average hours!

Maybe this can help you a bit:

"...weekly sleep average is still available to everyone. To view it, tap the sleep tile in the app, swipe left on the graphs at the top until you see “Hours in Sleep Stages,” then tap the graph to see your weekly averages.

All Fitbit users will continue to have access to their time asleep, sleep schedule, sleep quality details, as well as weekly hours slept compared to their sleep schedule. Additionally, all Fitbit users with a device capable of heart-rate tracking will also see their sleep stages and sleep score."

@LostEchoes  Thanks for trying to be helpful, but it doesn't work for those of us who have a Fitbit that doesn't track heart rate. Their latest update has removed a valuable feature for many users.

Its great that this information is still available, a couple of bits of feedback for Fitbit:

1.  When you change something and you don't adequately communicate it to your users, there's a lot of user frustration in the user community.  Some people will come to the forum for answers and most probably won't, if its an important feature to users you may end up losing users because of it.  That is the case for me, but I'm probably one of the 10% of your users that will voice a complaint in the community.

2.  From a pure application design perspective, what you guys did is horrible practice, you took a piece of data that's relevant to most people and hid it behind the scenes to the point where those that are interested in it have to go above and beyond to figure out how to get to the data they need.  If you want to introduce new features, those should be in the background with the option to switch them to the foreground if the user decides to.

One of the main reasons I've continued to stick with FitBit through the years is because of the software provided and the raw data that's available through that software.  By taking actions like this you're alienating some of your core user base.  I've purchased FitBit devices for at least 5 other friends or family that I can think of off the top of my head, guess who gets to answer their questions when you make changes to your software?

YES!! All this exactly. Half the reason I use a fitbit has now gone away. C'mon, folks! Fix this!

I don't even have that option in my app to look at sleep in stages. This is a really stupid update. Tracking sleep is a basic thing in fitbit. Hiding it for some people and removing it for others is just ridiculous. I'm due for a new tracker since mine isn't syncing right. I'm not getting another fitbit.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Changing the way we see our average hours of sleep to a "SCORE" mean sweet nothing to many of us. What? Somebody couldn't sleep at night and came up with this? And you thought it was a good idea? Really???? It doesn't mean a thing to most of us. Just look at all of the upset people.

Please update fitbit back the way it was!!!!!

Actually, here's the step-by-step that gets you what you want....

1. Open the sleep window (where it shows you the (I fully agree) very useless daily "sleep score" histogram above and the detailed daily sleep record by days of the week below.

2. Swipe the top (daily sleep score bar histogram) window right to left - this brings up the "Hours Slept" daily histogram.

3. Expand that window to full size (the diagonal double-arrow icon at the top right), and at the top, it displays the average sleep (hours and minutes) for the current week.  If you then swipe that window from left to right, it goes backward, week by week, displaying the average sleep at the top.

Hope this helps.

@DFR1335  As has been explained in previous posts, only those devices that track heart rate allow access to what you are describing. The rest of us [Flex 2 owners, for example] cannot access the average number of hours slept per week ANYWHERE via the phone app. Our only option is to log in to our Fitbit accounts via a browser and check our dashboards on the website itself.

This doesn't seem to work. When I follow the directions I'm able to see the number of hours slept daily or the TOTAL number of hours for the week, but not the average number of hours slept daily. How do you see that? I don't mind the sleep score, but I review my average number of hours slept on a regular basis.

Best Answer

@TeeJones That's because it doesn't work unless you have a FitBit that tracks your heart rate. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/How-to-see-average-sleep-hours-and-not-sleep-score/m-p/3...

It does not work!

Hi. I do not have that option on my app. Yes, it's been updated. My sleep score shows 0 every day. I'll try to show more pix but had an issue posting last night.
