How to understand heart rate zones on android app?

Hi,

I just got a charge 2 and use it with a samsung galaxy s7 edge and I'm on the latest version of the charge 2 firmware and the android app.I recently saw some screenshots of the ios app and noticed that in any heart rate graph, the zones are all neatly demarcated and colored appropriately including the color blue for normal heart rate out of any zone. However, on the android app, there is no line showing demarcation between the zones and worse the colors in the graph are all over the place and I can't really differentiate between any particular zone. I also noticed the same on a few other screenshots across the forum and was wondering if there was something inherently wrong with the android app or if there was something I was missing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, @balag59, those are the differences between the iOS version and the Android version of the app. The only one you can expand on is the first image you posted - if you tap on the top graph in that screen, it will open the expanded screen with the heart rate zones and give you the ability to tap on places in the graph to get a pop-up with the actual heart rate and zone displayed. This isn't a feature of the exercise heart rate screens, though.

@balag59 I've moved you comment about the Android app into the Android forum.. However this seems to be more of a request for the Fitbit developers and not something the community of Fitbit users will be able to help you with.

You might want to post this in the Feature Suggestion Forum this is where the developers look to see what the users would like to see implemented.

Thank you for your response! What i wanted to know from the community was if everybody's android app displayed the graphs the same way or if i was doing something wrong. So if anybody else could confirm my issue it would be of great help. Thanks!

@balag59, the iPhone app and Android app will always be different due to the nature of their hardware & operating software differences.  But, you would have to include screenshots of what you are seeing in order for us to fully understand what you are seeing vs what you wish to see.

You should be able to see the heart rate zones fairly clearly on your Android app, such as this:

Heartrate-1.jpg

And, if you hover/click on any part of the graph, it should give you specific information on that reading's zone, such as this:

Heartrate-2.jpg

Thank you much for the help and the screenshots.  Now this is how it appears on my phone:Display on my android deviceDisplay on my android device

Display on my android deviceDisplay on my android device

And this is what i want to see and is visible on ios devices (just an online sample)Display on ios devicesDisplay on ios devices

Display on ios devicesDisplay on ios devices

Hopefully this illustrates the differences that I'm talking about. As you can see from my screenshots above,  it becomes very difficult to differentiate between different heart rate zones on my device.

Thanks!

So you're saying that on android i can't really view the heart rate data as well and as clearly as i can on ios? It can't be just attributed to differences in the operating systems because one of them ended up with a clearly inferior app and that is really disappointing! If this is how bad the support is going to be to android users then I'm seriously considering just returning the fitbit charge 2.

Thanks!
