Huawei mate 20 lite compatibility

I'm thinking about buying a Fitbit Versa and I want to use it with my Huawei mate 20 lite. Luckily I just read today that they might not be compatible and Fitbit doesn't guarantee 100% funcionality. I saw a lot of topics about p10/p20/p20 lite models but I haven't found information about Mate 20 lite devices.

Does anyone have a mate 20 lite with working connectivity with a Fitbit Versa?

Also I read about the possible solution with battery management on Huawei devices, can someone confirm that this works on the long-term, not just temporarily?

Welcome to the Forums @folzoli.

Thanks for checking on all of those topics before posting in here.

As you mentioned, the Mate 20 lite is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing, so if you do get it, those steps are worth a try.

As for any workaround like the one that you mentioned, unfortunately I am not able to provide much assistance on the matter. Hopefully someone with the Mate 20 lite will post their experience and insights on the matter.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

Hi, could you please update us if the fitbit was compatible with mate 20 lite?

@Rene86 Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! You can check the official compatible devices list to see when a device is added to it. Still if your phone doesn't show as compatible that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

Keep me posted!

I synced my friends fitbit versa to my Huawei mate 20 lite but then had trouble getting it to sync again, are you having this issue or does it sync fine?

Mines a bit hit and miss, syncs then won't for a bit, it's frustrating tbh.

I've heard they do that at the moment. I'm thinking of getting a versa hence why I tried someone else's on my phone first but I'm not sure with it being a bit dodgy syncing. Would you recommend it?

Fair enough. Might give it a go anyway. Would think they are trying to make them compatible on all android phones anyway.

I've had my Huawei Mate 20 lite since before Xmas. Although now I have successful syncing with my versa I'm still unable to receive notifications. The syncing is also intermittent

Now you've had the phone a bit longer is it still working okay with your watch?

Its a real shame and im considering buying an alternative fitness tracker as its a ball ache trying to sync with 2 different devices

I cant join in any competitions with my friends - am pissed off with it!!

Hello everyone.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for sharing your feedback and experiences.

If you have already tried all of the steps recommended and your Fitbit still won't sync to your phone, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

I appreciate your help but syncing it to another device isn't exactly a solution. Buying the watch in the first place for the fact it sends you notifications etc which you won't get to the device it was intended for. It states the watches work with phones that meet the Bluetooth and android system requirements but they don't. How come the watch works with an iOS device when they have their own range of watches, yet doesn't work with a standard android device?! Will there be a fix for this or are people just expected to sync to a device the watch isn't intended for? Meaning the watch won't be utilised to its full extent.

Hello @Baines11 and @Pipweek13.

I apologize for the delay in my response.

@Baines11 Thanks for your feedback. Keep in mind that there are several reasons why this could be happening and that meeting the minimum requirements doesn't mean that a phone will work 100% of the time. It is possible that the optimization issues come from the software on the phone, like the UI version being used, or other software could hamper the functionality.

As for when will that specific phone be added to the list, we do not have any details on the matter. However you could post about it in our Feature Suggestions board. That way other users can comment and vote on your idea to show their support. Be sure to read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.

@Baines11   not sure if this is of any use to you, but i've had an update for my Versa through the Google Play App store and "touch wood" its a whole lot better than it was.

My phone and watch now successfully pair every time, it updates throughout the day to what ive done.

The only thing i dont have at the moment is the notification service, ie calls and texts etc

Hoping on the next update this maybe resolved fully

God i really hope that I dont jynx myself writing this!!

Thats good! Which phone do you have? I think my only issue is that I would like to be able to get the notifications which is why I'm holding off on buying a watch at the moment .
