Icons not registering when goal is reached

Hello.  I used to love my FitBit.   Now it seems to be messing up more and more.

My latest - I have a 4 mile goal.  That is listed correctly on my app, dashboard and device.

Yesterday I walked 5 miles and it shows the right distance but doesn't make the mileage icon complete.

Also - suddenly the steps take up 2 lines on my app when I go over 9999.  What the heck?

Any advise - I've already done all the restarting, uninstalled and reinstalled.....

Mine has been the same this week. I have a charge 2, not sure if it makes a difference.

Yep, mine is still messed up. Seems worse since Google took over.

My miles goal is not marking as complete as well. I've noticed this the past few days. I've surpassed my goal each day, and if I click it it shows the star, but the ring does not close.

Did routine manual update of the Fitbit app (Android) around March 27 and have had the mileage problem since. I haven't noticed the 9999 step issue. For mileage, my goal is 5 miles and that's specified as my main goal, not steps. Mile graph shows line at 5 miles and the star for bars exceeding that, but circle on main screen doesn't complete until maybe 8 or 9 miles. Watch doesn't buzz me at 5 miles either. Miles and steps are recording correctly. It's almost like part of the app thinks my miles are actually kilometers.

I've still been having this issue since mid March. I keep looking for a setting that might need changed but can't find one. All the other rings work fine except the miles.

Good Morning!  I had the same issue recently.  I fixed it by logging onto the online Dashboard.  Mouse over the section labeled "Today" with steps, calls, etc.  At the bottom there is a settings icon.  Click that and change the activity goal for miles.  The other member was right.  It appeared to be confusing Kms.  Mine was set to 8.05 for some unknown reason.  Once I put it back to 5miles.  The icon returned to normal.

Good job finding that settings icon in the online dashboard! I had changed my goal in the (Android) app to 3.11 miles, so the online dashboard already said 5.01 miles. Changed the online dashboard to 5 miles. A few minutes later, I changed my app Activity Goal from 3.11 to 5 miles. Minutes later, went back to the online dashboard and it says 8.05 miles. Changed it to 5 miles (again). Moments later, I looked at my app Activity Goal and it's set itself back to 3.11 miles.

The online dashboard and app are apparently dealing in separate units (app in miles, online in km). Maybe that will help someone at FitbitGoogle solve the problem.

Note that for my Versa 2, Mail Goal is set at "Distance." That may or may not be relevant to the problem. I'll also reiterate that the problem began for me after an manual app update in late March.

Hi Brian
Thanks for your reply. I'm set up for miles.
Seems to just be a glitch in the program.
Best,

UW_Husky  Mine did the same (changes not sticking when going between app and dashboard). Very frustrating! This problem started after the March update (as others have said).

Thanks! I want my green circle! ha ha

Thank you! I did exactly what you said and that was the problem with mine too! I changed the mile setting on the online dashboard and now the circle completes.

I did the update as well and have had the mileage problem since. Everything else seems to work ok.

Thank you! Mine was set to 3.2 despite me changing it. You were absolutely right. Logged on to the website and changed it on there. Now it's fine. Thanks 😊

Thank you so much! This 100% fixed it! It was a little thing, but checking off those goals is motivating. 😄

Absolutely fixed it.  I tried to change it in app many times.  But once I changed it on fitbit.com dashboard fixed right away.  Thank you.

Has this been fixed yet?

When I change it online as suggested, it still fails to fill the circle on the android app.

Any one know of any other fix.

Annoying as distance is the feature I use the most.

@Dat465 I have been experiencing this issue for a while now. From my experience, NO it is not fixed. Its been happening since an update that occurred almost a year ago. Also, (from my experience) changing the goal on the website WILL NOT fix your problem. It actually makes your goal in the app smaller than you want.

Lets say I input my goal on the website as 2 miles. I walk 2 miles and my circle looks complete! Yay, but NOT REALLY. If you click for more detailed information on your mileage, it will actually show your goal as 1.24 miles. If you pay close attention, you will notice that your circle will complete sooner than you want (at 1.24 miles instead of the full 2). And every place your goal shows up in the app it will incorrectly display as 1.24 miles.

@Dat465 As a said, still a problem for me. But I went through the process again just to make sure and I noticed a new problem.... My goal circle isnt actually changing when I change my goal. It is stuck on my old goal of 9mi. I even tried reinstalling the app. Not sure why the circle isn't updating.
