While my watch was charging I manually entered my step count for the hour as 260 but I forgot that it was in miles and not convered to steps (my mistake). I selected Exercise Days found my 260 miles walk and deleted it. It is gone from the list of my exercises for the day. But it will not correct my step count.
Is there a way to correct this?
I am on the current android version of fitbit 4.26.1

Hello @Chrissard
Although I'm not sure that this will work, try clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone, then do a manual sync on the Fitbit app.
Let us know if this worked for you.

That did not work. I ever rebooted the Phone (pixel 9) Steps are still 193,636 on the app. I then turn off my phone. Turned off the watch. Restarted the watch and it gave me 9,327 steps and it will stay that way for a few seconds (until it updates from the web) and changes to now 573,855! The phone keeps jumping back and forth fro 193,### steps and the 573### numbers as it updates. To bad we do not have the web based dashboard to see what data is there.

Hello @Chrissard
Thank you for letting us know that clearing the cache didn't work to remove the excess steps. I can't think of any other troubleshooting to try.
Out of curiosity, have you looked at the step graph for the day? Does it show when you got the excessive number of steps?
Since you mentioned that you saw a more reasonable number of steps after you restarted your watch, I'm wondering if the correct number is what was uploaded to your account on the Fitbit servers. There's a known issue that affects data syncing between the Fitbit app and the Fitbit servers. It could be that when this issue is fixed, you'll see the correct number of steps for that day.
