Hi All,

Ok bare with me on this one as I need to explain. My fitbit has logged the following between 10:30 and 11am this morning and it has sent me into panic mode! so the following was all logged between 10:30 and 11... but I was sitting down in a coffee shop chatting to friends! So now I am worried, did my heart have a super melt down and go beat crazy? but how did the activity log as I thought I had to be on the move for that to log!?

  • 20 minutes of activity logged
  • 37 steps (but logged as intense)
  • Heart Rate up to 124 bpm

below are screen shots... sitting typing away at the moment my HR sits between 65-70 so I am wondering, was this a glitch, or should I go see a doctor.. I didn't feel my heart racing at all, only noticed all this as just seen 20 mins of activity and thought what on earth as I've been writing for my dissertation all morning! Anyone else ever seen something like this?!

Hi @Mrsgoz, welcome on board. It's great to see you here!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the screenshots. They were very helpful! While it's okay to see a few extra steps if you're moving your arms too much, I'm with you that the heart rate and active minutes are too high. To investigate, please let me know the model of your Fitbit device. Have you had this issue in the past? Was your Fitbit device too tight or loose on your arm?

The intensity of an activity is based on the heart rate readings, for this reason, I'd recommend the following:

  1.  Please turn off the heart rate settings. For instructions, see this help article.
  2. Restart your Fitbit device to refresh its performance.
  3. Turn back on the heart rate settings.
  4. Check this help article for tips to improve heart-rate accuracy.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Robot Happy
