Inspire HR not working with Galaxy S8

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just purchased the Inspire HR on Friday and it connected fine to my Galaxy S8 originally. Then it wouldn't sync right and if I click on apps or clock faces it tells me my inspire is not connected but it is connected. I spent 45 mins on the phone with customer support and they insisted it was a faulty inspire. I tried numerous things to get it to work but nothing worked. I returned it and got a new one today. I'm having the same issue as before. I was having the issue before updating to Pie so I updated to Pie and I'm still having the same problem. Does anyone actually have the S8 and inspire hr and do they work together? I have the Alta hr and have no issues with syncing or connection.

Welcome to the Forums @AuroraCS.

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing all of those details on what you have tried and gone through.

It could be that your S8 bonded to the first Inspire and that connection was corrupted. Let's try starting from scratch. To do so, please try these steps:

  1. Go to the S8's Bluetooth settings.
  2. Once you are there, look for all Fitbit devices that might show up as paired.
  3. Then, remove all of those devices from the list.
  4. Restart your phone.
  5. Run the set up as if you are setting up a replacement Fitbit.

Please keep me posted on how it goes or if there is anything else I can help you with.

Hi Lanuza,

I had already removed the original inspire and the second one was set up as it should have been like new. Since originally pairing the new oneo(although I tried this all on the first one) i have now unpaired the new one, removed from Fitbit, redid setup again, uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app. The Fitbit app, inspire and S8 are up to date. I don't know what else to do. It just doesn't seem compatible Alf it's very frustrating.

Hello @AuroraCS.

Thanks for taking the time to mention everything that you have tried to get your Fitbit to sync and pair.

In this case I'd like to ask you to let me know what Android version is your phone running. That could shed some light into what is going on.

If you have Android 9, let's try turning off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.

Then, disable battery limitations:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization
  2. Change view to All apps
  3. Search for Fitbit app
  4. Choose Not optimized

Let me know if there is anything else that we can help you with and keep me posted on how it goes.
