Inspire stopped tracking exercise except steps in July

My inspire tracker stopped tracking any exercise except steps in July.   I know there was a system change andvifbmy phone is an outdated version the new app will not work.  I have a Samsung, version 9 so that should not be an issue.  I reinstalled the new app and my tracker still dies not record my exercise, ie. Walks, workouts.  Any other suggestions?

@JulieHenderson Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting.

I'd like to clarify that the workouts tracked are done through the Inspire and then they will only sync to your app. I'd like you to make sure you're following this procedure to track your activities. Also, it could be auto recognized using SmartTrack. May I know if your Inspire is crashing while recording a workout?

Hope this helps.

I have using this device and exercise tracking for two years.  Historically it has automatically tracked activity by category.  I have times set for each type of activity.  It worked until July.  I was unable to use the tracker for several weeks due to an injury.  When I turned it on a couple of weeks ago zi noticed it was not tracking my walks in the app.  My device shows a total time of continuous exercise in the correct icon, but not which exercise, ie walk.  I have turned the device off and back on and have reinstalled the app.  Neither helped the problem.  Because of timing it seems to coincide with your software update.

@JulieHenderson Thank you for getting back.

Glad to hear that you're well now. In order to provide you with the appropriate troubleshooting, please attach a screenshot of the tab that shows the continuous exercise but isn't categorizing them.

See you around.

The screen shot wouldn't help.  The app only shows steps.  The fitbit device itself shows the time recorded as exercise.  This is too complicated for me.  This is my third fitbit device. I was able to get almost 2 years use out of the first two and then started losing features.  This one it has been a year.  The only thing really working is the step count.  I see many other users have problems.  This last update you did totally eliminated the functionality of my device.  Going to buy a different brand.  I have lost confidence in your products.
