Ionic won't sync to Galaxy S9

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic will not stay synced to my Samsung Galaxy S9. Most days it won't sync at all and the out of the blue it will. I have tried every tip I can find on the forums but nothing fixes it. Fitbit software is up to date and I  running on Android 8.0. Please help!! Have had the issue for months now.

Welcome to the Forums @Leah92184.

Let me help you get it to sync continually. Thanks for sharing the details of your setup and letting us know that you have already looked for fixes on the Community.

The first thing I'd recommend is that you try to follow the steps listed in this help article. From what you are saying I'd say that you have already tried these steps but please try going through them once again in order.

In the meantime I'd like to ask you if you are getting some sort error message? If so, what does it say?

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello,

I have tried multiple things multiple time that were found on the forums.
The link you provided takes me on a never ending goose hunt. It tells me to
try the trouble shooting tips so I click on that link, then it sends me to
another link which I click on and that leads me back to the same place your
original link takes me. I have tried everything many times and at this
point I am very frustrated.

I dont receive an error message it just spins. Occasionally out the blue it
connects and I will get alerts but that only lasts a few minutes.

Hello @Leah92184.

Thanks for checking the link I shared. Let's try the following in order to get it to work:

  1. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  2. Look for your Ionic in there and remove it from the list of paired devices.
  3. Do the same with any other Fitbit devices that might show up.
  4. Then restart your phone.
  5. Run the set up as if you had a brand new device.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I have been having the same problem for 2 weeks now. I have tried all suggestions found in the article. For me my phone finds the ionic and the 4 digit number appears on my ionic. Once I enter it in the app on my phone it keeps searching and spins and the set up never finishes.

I think I had to unpair my ionic from my iPad and laptop if I remember right. Then run the set up again.

I have no problems now so it got sorted without having to change my phone or ionic.

Hello Gled,

Made sure that ionic was removed from my laptop and home p.c. Tried the set up process once again. The app finds my fitbit and gives me the 4 digit code which I enter into the app and nothing. It says sorry for taking so long and were on it and please be patient. Which I do and then it times out and takes me to the page of turning the watch off and on etc..... and continues to search for the watch to no avail.

This is a known issue to Fitbit but they won't publish it for some reason. Allegedly, their engineers are working on a software fix but in the meantime (and maybe after) you have a watch that doesn't work with your phone and no relief from Fitbit.

Yeah, I'm done with Fitbit too. My Blaze was a pretty good watch but it broke after a little over a year. I can't stand the Ionic. Fitbit is going backward!
