Dear all,
I use Charge 3 GPS tracking with a Sony XPERIA mini (G8441 Android 9) to see the map of my MTB rides, but I'd also like to add a real-time GPS position sharing for safety reason with someone other; i.e. my husband who has installed Fitbit App, even if without any tracker connected.
At the time being I wasn't succesful. Is there any chance to do this in some way?
I've also used GPS position sharing through Wathsapp but in this case I'm not any more able to collect the map in Fitbit. So the second question is: does anyone knows how to make Fitbit and WhatsApp GPS positioning compatible?
Thank You in advance for any suggestion

It's not possible to share real-time GPS position right now. However, that's a great idea and you may want to post it in our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and the ideas change based in Fitbit's plans.
Regarding your question about linking Fitbit and WhatsApp GPS, I don't have any information about this integration but you may want to ask the third-party app because we have an open API.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Best AnswerHi! It’s been three years since this question. Are there any updates? Thank you.
Best AnswerI don't think this feature is anywhere in the roadmap of future updates. Safety beacon would be a good feature. I have it on Garmin and share my location with my wife when running on trails (especially when those are new and unexplored trails).
No there's no update.
You might want to use some apps on your phone at the same time such as Strava, Adidas, Komoot.
We are not asking for the app to share location, but the tracker, which is not connected to the Internet, to share it's location through the Internet.
In other words, please hand me that paper through the closed, locked door.
Does garmin watch share, or the phone app share? It is not enough to be connected, but somene has to write the code.
Best Answer@Rich_Laue scroll up and see what forum it is. It's Android app forum and it was nowhere mentioned the user wanted to use explicitly the watch but wanted some method of sharing the location. Garmin does that via the app (and more as it provides several safety and tracking features). It works. Simple and effective. In general, for safety reasons it's always better to have mobile phone.
