Hi, just read all the posts about unsupported phones.

Has anyone managed to get an HTC U11 to receive notifications?

Many thanks,

Hello @AmandaJCole, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. I was reading you have an Alta and is not syncing with your phone. Note that with non-supported mobile devices is hard to guarantee the behavior of the tracker in relation to your mobile phone.

At the moment I can say this devices is not compatible, so it might be the reason your tracker is not syncing. However there are scenarios like the one mentioned by @MPA5 where the tracker is capable to sync. So it would hurt to try the following suggestions: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

If that does not work, I suggest setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a computer. Our team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices listso keep an eye open for updates!

See you around and hope this helps.

Hello @PJMNH, I noticed you haven't received an official response. So let me step in a start by giving you a warm welcome!

This phone has just been released and at this time, the HTC U11 is currently not on our list of supported devices. This means that our Android team has not yet fully tested it for compatibility and added it to the list. I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a computer.

The difference between a compatible vs a non-compatible is that we cannot guarantee the behavior of phone in relation to the Fitbit app or the Fitbit tracker.

If you have more questions please let me know.

I have the HTC U11 and am happy to confirm that it's extremely compatible with Fitbit. Notifications are seamless, syncing is perfect. In fact, it might be the best marriage I've seen between and Android phone and Fitbit. Nice work.

Hi there @MPA5, I noticed you just have joined the Fitbit Community, so I'm just passing by to give you a warm welcome. I'm sure your information will be helpful to @PJMNH and any other user who might have the same concern.

I've recently switched to HTC U11 and my Fitbit Alta works fine. Sync and whatsapp notification works. Just got to make sure on the fitbit app, notification widget is switched on. Then make sure in your HTC settings > notification > WhatsApp notification is turned on.  Also make sure that you choose the option that even when your phone is on do not disturb or silent mode you still receive notification.

So make sure both phone and FitBit all notification selections have been turned on.

Cheers.

Hello @luca85 and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @Jaysheh.

Thank you for your input @Jaysheh I'm sure this information will be useful for other users here in the Community!

@luca85 I'm a aware it sounds like a canned answer but my purpose here is not to lie to you or other users in the Community, is just to prove the information it is available at the moment. Also the list is updated accordingly as new mobile phones are tested out, I can give you the example of the Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+. Although I'm not trying to change your point of view as this is important for us as is your feedback since this help us to deliver the service you deserve.

See you later and stay tuned to the Fitbit Community!

@RobertoME it is a canned response. The Samsung phone was the only addition in ages (together with the pixel). Let's go trough it.

Oneplus: only model supported is the "one" (2013!!!)

Motorola: you support models only until 2014!

Huawei (second producer by market share of all platforms!!!): you support models released until 2015.

Xiaomi: latest model supported (Mi4) released in 2014.

LG: You support models released until early 2015.

HTC: models released until early 2015 (M9).

Should I go on?

You blatantly have a problem with *all* android phones. Which is >80% of the smartphone market. I don't even want anything. I'm pestering this community just because I want an official statement regarding exactly what the problem is!!

I can't get my U11 to connect at all. I removed my ionic so that I could try set it up again but now I can't even do that.

Please help, I don't understand why the U11 would work no problem for some and not others!

I had the same problem. I switched from htc 10 to htc 11. My fitbit worked
perfectly until I switched phones. I tried to delete the app. Start over,
got a new email. Finally I contacted the fitbit Co. And it turns out mine
was still under warranty. Give it a try. I sent them my old one and they
mailed me a new one. Works great. Hope this helps

I just bought a Versa on eBay and tried for hours to get it to sync with my HTC u11 life. No joy.

Spoke to Fitbit who said my phone is supported and to return to vendor.

Is the HTC u11 life compatible with any fitbits or should I head towards your friends at Garmin?

Hi,

I loved my HTC. I bought the 9,10 and 11. I never found one that worked with my Fitbit. Sorry
