I receive the following error message when trying to log in to the fitbit app on my new android phone: Error contacting Recaptcha. Please go back and try again!
I am logging in via fitbit account and typed in the email and password manually. Help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks a lot for taking a step forward and getting in touch with us. Let's try to get this resolved!
Since you mentioned your phone is new, I'm assuming your phone has the latest app version. It can happen that the Android system version your phone is running might not be compatible with the current Fitbit app minimum requirements.
Right now, you need at least Android 11 to run it. Please make sure your phone has completed all pending updates and try to uninstall and reinstall the app.

I have the same issue on my new phone.
I have cleared the fitbit app cache, restarted the phone, deleted & installed the latest version of the fitbit app.
Cannot get past this continuous Recaptcha error.

In order to better understand the issue and look for additional steps, I'd really love to get a screenshot of the error message you're seeing.
If it's possible for you, can you try logging in from another device, just to rule out that this isn't an issue with your current device?

I just tried it again, to get you a screenshot, but this time it worked, with no Recaptcha error.
So I am OK on my new device now.

I'm setting up my new Android phone & running into the same error message. I've tried everything others have, and I'm running on Android version 15. The app on my old Android phone logged me out for some unknown reason, & it's giving the same error even though it's on Android version 14. I'm only able to log in on a web browser.
There's also a Reddit thread where several people are reporting the exact same error message.

Recently I got the same problem. I am using the same android phone that I always login with. I updated the app and I switched off WiFi (recommended on Reddit). Nothing works.

Update. I managed to fix it! I clicked on the captcha icon a couple of times and it led me to some Google terms and service page that I had to login to. After that, my Fitbit login worked.

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for sharing all this information with us!
I'm happy to see some of you have somehow sorted this out. Considering the behavior you have described, this seems to be a glitch with the app.
Since some of you have had it resolve itself, the only advice I have is to try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.
Besides that, this might get resolved with a future update of the app.

I can login to the website my tablet and old phone no problem. New phone the Error keeps happening even after I click on the Recaptcha and I sign in still same problem.

Ok, but to Move to a Google Account, isn't this done through the Fitbit App that they can not get into?

@mrtipex I'll assume that you haven't moved over to a Google login.
Is it the Error contacting Recaptcha notice that you see.
Have you tried the update app, phone, clear fitbit data through phoned setting? Stopped the app, etc.
Do you know your password for fitbit? Your login name and password should be the same as on this site. So try checking your saved passwords.
If you forgot your password, did you try the 'Forgot Password' option.
What are the error messages, if any, are you receiving any

I am using a new handset. Android version 15
Fitbit cache cleared.
Phone reset several times no success
My password is correct it just won't let me access my account.
Continual red note on log in page stating...

Just activated a new Samsung S25+ and updated all the software. I'm getting the same error message when I try to log into my fitbit app. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, clicked on recaptcha and made sure I was logged into my Google account but nothing works. I've reset my password yet again. I know I can log in to fitbit because I logged in here. It would be nice if fitbit would fix this issue instead of putting it on a moderator who doesn't have a clue.
