LG G6 compatibility?

My husband and I got new LG G6 phones yesterday.  Today I could not sync my Flex 2 and contact Fitbit Customer Service.  They advised the LG G6 is not supported.  My husband and I both use Fitbit trackers and would really love it if this device was supported.  Thank you!

Hi, Thanks for replying - I should have been more specific - my phone does
sync with the Fitbit however I don't get phone and text notifications - this
is what I am really missing. It was so useful as I am not allowed my phone
on my desk at work but if I got a text message or if my phone was ringing I
would know who it was and if it was important without having my phone
visible. I really like my LG G6 and will probably not buy another Fitbit
should my current one fail because of this. Can you help at all?

Many thanks

Lorna

I have the same issue. The phone calls work sometimes and sometimes it
works after the person called. The text has never worked. From what o found
when researching is most fitbit devices that use the older fit bits like
this one or older only support much older model phones. It seems as if fit
bit never bother to upgrade them to support new model phones as the years
went on.

I just got my phone yesterday and this was still the case.  But I contacted fitbit support and here is a summary of how they made mine connect.  I have a fitbit alta HR and an LG g6.

Turn off the Bluetooth on  your phone.  login to fitbit app.  plug your fitbit into your computer ( or how ever you reset it) .  reset the watch, then try to sync the app , it will prompt you to turn on your Bluetooth and this should force a connection.

- you will have to go back in and set up your notification preferences again ( well I had to, you might).

hope this helped and took some work off the plate of the fitbit help center.

A year later and still not compatible?

I am so sick...I have to return my brand new Versa because I cannot use it to its fullest capability.  I am heartbroken and angry.

Fitbit does not clearly identify the very limited compatible phones....got my versa just to be very devastated.

Still issues. I have now moved on to the blaze, which is much better. One
thing I noticed is many are having issues with older fitbit devices working
with newer phones. Fitbit doesn't seem to be making Software for older
fitbits to support newer phones.

Mine wasnt working (lg6plus) it would alert me if it rang but not when I got messages. After messing around iv realised when I have my phone on silent (which I always did) it dosent notify me, when I have the sound on, even set at the lowest it does notify me for both messages and calls....crazy!

I got the blaze now and it will notify me when mine is on vibrate. I did
notice there is a setting on the phones to make the fitbit a "trusted
device". When I didnt have that set, I was not getting all the notifications

Please provide the steps. You are talking about a LG G6 and the Fitbit Blaze right?

Thanks,

I am not sure. I have installed and later when I get a text or call the
notifications have not worked, but when I have installed and had someone
send me a test text or call right after I install it, including Bluetooth,
the phone ask me if I want to add the device (fitbit) as a trusted device.
Then I get all the notifications.

I don't recall then, but if you call fitbit support they will walk you
through it.

Obviously that is simply not true.  It is now May 2018 and the LG G7 is about to come out.  I tried to connect today and the G6 still does not work.  It's not like the G6 is an off brand phone.  This  is ridiculous.

Hi there LG friends, I was reading all your posts and I know you are eager to see this mobile phone listed as a compatible device

With non compatible devices, we cannot guarantee all features are going to work as is intended, since the app is not optimized to work with the mobile device in questions. Please refer to @ErickFitbit post here for more details.

I have compile substantial feedback and I have passed forward all your comments to our teams. So I will proceed to close this thread. Rest assure we are working to improve the Fitbit experience to all our users.
